I have been so busy with our bluegrass band and traveling all over that i have had no time to blog! I hope to start bloggin regularly again but we will see how it turns out haha. Well last weekend was the Williamson county fair and there was a bluegrass competition and i got in the fiddle, mandolin and me and my sister Kati got in the singin competition. I ended up gettin 3rd in the fiddle (ages 15 to 39) and me and my sis got 2nd in the singin (all ages)..that was a fun weekend but now we are all exhausted!!!!! We got back a couple of weeks ago from Columbus, Ohio and we did the childrens band at the MACC (musicians against childhood cancer). This festival started as just a regular one and then after they had done it for a few years the daughter of the people that put it on passed away from cancer. St. Judes Research Hospital helped this family greatly so now every year this family puts this festival on and all of the proceeds go to that hospital. Last year they raised over $500,000 dollars!!!!!! We absolutely love what they are doin and why they are doin it so we try our best to go every year. I would love to hear from all of ya'll and also i think i would like to change up my blog a lil and as you probobly know i still don't know how lol. I would like someone to help me PLEASE! Then the next day we are leaving to go to White's Mountain in Ala. and camp in our camper!! We are going to stay till Sunday! Then the rest of that week will probobly be the same unless I get my braces that week!!  And then on Friday of next week we are leaving to go to Old Baker Farm way down in Alabama!! Well Mom wants me to go to bed a little earlier than usuall so like I always say!   TTYL   Tori http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/froggy07/410483/ Wed, 17 Oct 2007 21:39:00 -0500 http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/froggy07/410483/ Hello,   This week starting on Wed. was pretty great we went to Nashville, Ten. to a bluegrass convention there and we had a great time!!!!  We got to play with the Kids on Bluegrass there and me and my sister Kati were two of 22 kids that got to participate in it.  We had alot of practicing to do like the first day was a 3 hour practice and that was just a little much (lol). I got to make alot of new friends from California, Texas, and also Florida. We got to do alot of jamming so that was more fun on the side. But the thing that Kati liked to do the most was probobly ride on the escalader  (I don't know if that is how you spell it) and the elevator the elevator had a glass viewing area so we were on the 20th floor so it was pretty cool!!!! They had a Grandmaster Fiddle Championship there and there were alot of good fiddle players there I got in it but there were over 30 contestants in it! I also got a new camera over the weekend and also 2 new cases! I put stickers all over them about bluegrass. Well I guess that I better let ya'll get on with what ya'll are doing!!!! It all started on Thursday, we went to help out our church to get ready for an auction that they were going to have that Saturday so they let me buy something since I wasn't going to be there on that Sat.. Then the next day (Fri.) we went to the fair and it was school day and it was totally PACKED!!!!!! We had to wait in line for one ride for 1 hour and 10 minutes and when we were waiting in line, my friends and sister rode about 4 more rides!!! Well we got back home and then we had company and they didn't leave until about 10:30 that night. Well then the next day (Sat.) we went to a bluegrass festival in Tenn. and we got there at about 9:00 that morning and left at about 11:00 or 12:00 that night. We (me and Kati) got in alot of competitions and I got FIRST out of 21 contestants in the 15 and under fiddle competion. I also got first in dulcimer, first in autoharp, second in banjo, second in dobro, and our whole family got in the band contest and got third in it! I was really happy about how that day turned out!!!!! You all can write me a message or a comment if you want to know about any of the instruments that I play I will be happy to tell you about them. Oh I also play stand up bass and a little bit of the piano and guitar and the mandolin!! I will write soon!
