my life in the now

Well I'm sorry I have stayed way almost one full year. That was not my intention.
But here's the scoop on all of us.
My marriage has made it thru the storms and were still hangin in there. My DS 1,2 and 3 are all in school still my husband will not ever let me hs again after seeing I can bring in a paycheck. However the school my younger ds's attend is a looping school where the teachers they have in 1st they will have again in 2ndand who they have in 3rd they will have in 4th, which as you know I love that.
Ds4 is lovin every min. of his school experience and getting along in school very well he is still far above in reading and math than most of his peers due to how I placed him last year and his teacher knows he needs the extra challange in his work.
Ds5 well is coming along quite well I like to see him actually like to go to school it took along time for him to adjust to leaving everyday.
There is so much I miss about hs that it aches in my heart but I must do what is needed for us now as a family.
I hope you all are well.
If your ever on FaceBook look me up by email address.
Take care and God bless all of you who have kept us in your prayers.

Character Training

After my last post I had to make some changes in my home and with my boys. We have a huge Character deficiency around here and it has gotten out of control. I was reading a blog and at this point I can only say I think it was Tiany's blog (she always has awesome links to share) and stumbled upon an awesome bloggers site , needless to say I fell under conviction.
I brag often on raising 5 awesome young men of God to lead their familes in the way of the Lord and here I am not instilling in my children Godly Character that is pleasing to Him so ,therefore, I am making changes to our focus in our school day. I am absolutely going to post this chart in my control journal. Because being aware is key.
Character Training and Life Skills will be the focus for awhile, what good is it to know how to read, write, learn all these things and still have no Godly character seeing as that is where our destiny is...with God. I have a hard time believing He is going to ask us "So how much do you know?" I think it all goes hand in hand, together in educating our loved ones.
I am on this journey with my kids and I want them to have Character and be examples to others around them. I know that with Jesus by my side He helps me to guide them in ways pleasing to Him.
Thank you to all you moms who commented on the above post, I know I am not alone and it is a struggle we all face. Be encouraged as you all have encouraged me.
Blessings to all.

What To Do?

Okay, my schedule everyday has an activity after the work is done today was the library. Well here's my problem, Ds4's attitude was horrible and I'm not kidding. We started working on Phonics which is our second subject of the day. He started crying getting mad and even disrespectful at times b/c of laziness,he just didn't want to review again. That I can handle. This is my dilemma ...I don't feel he should go to the outing even if it's the Library and I know I should leave him home. What is it that makes me take him anyway?
His attitude was great after I changed my mind and allowed him to go and I did tell him that if he acts like that again he would not go. What is going on? I would have never changed my mind when he was younger. What is it that makes me take him anyway? I have to get an understanding of this.
Your thoughts.

Week 2

Off to an awesome start . I enjoyed the expression on my boys face when we read God's Creation 1 (Space and Time)for Science today. They loved it and wanted more...finally I have found something that they love to listen to.
The boys did all their work and stuck with me till the end. I am proud of them.
I have changed their day around. Household responsabilities in the afternoon and a later start in the morning.
On another note my husband got a job transfer, I couldn't be more excited. I pray it is going to be easier the job is only 8 min. away instead of a 30 min drive. It will help so much not to have to spend so much money on gas. The job also comes with an increase in pay, God is awesome.
Just wanted to share.
Blessing.

Ready set Go

I have just finished my charts for the year, we needed a little organization spread throughout the house.
I have a household(chore seems to tramatic of a word for my men) responsability chart, House hold rules chart so far.
I don't think my husband understood me when I asked him if I could get a bit of help around here, now he does. lol.
I hope it works, I'd really hate to be single again.
In other news...
I am dog,cat and hampster sitting this weekend. I admit I love the dog but the others stink. Oh and I lost their house key in my laundry...pray for me to find it. Good thing they are related.
Be blessed

Day 3

Evaluation day. How much do they remember?
Well, I am pleased to tell you they remember everything. Thank God. One week (vs. one trimester) of reviewing concepts and rules and well be back where we were at. I love it.
Ds5 Shocked me the most he gave answers to things he was struggling with and I thought I'd have to teach it again. I am very pleased at his memory skills
Ds4 He is smart as a whip. He will pick up where he left off. No real constant review just practicing what we already know(read, read, read).
On another note my ex-husband is really giving hs my ds2 much thought (decision this week ) and I am very happy about that. Military school is an option as well but I am praying for hsing.

I'm Spoiled

If I have never said it before...I am in love with my kids. My DS1 got back from Brown City Family Camp with his best friend Sammy and wanted to take me to the movies, Bourne Ultimatum and McDonalds for dinner. That wasn't the best part, he wanted to tell me that he want's to tell everyone that they don't have to go to hell (If HE HAD A CURE FOR CANCER HE'D TELL IT SO TELL PEOPLE THEY DON'T HAVE TO GO TO HELL) and he wants to start with his friends. I am thankful for the work God continues to do in his life. We had such a great time.
Blessings

Snakes

Okay, my sons are lovin' having a snake. Of course they keep it at their dads but when they come to visit they always, always brings it with them. I thought I was more afraid of snakes than I ended up being. So can u guess what's our first unit study.....you guess it, Snakes ,the boys are so excited their big brothers are teching them and "doing school" together.

I haven't figured out what is all involved in the unit study but I am getting it together now.
