Spend A Night In Gotham... - Homeschool Blogger

They say that Gotham City is a place where criminals lurk in every dark alley and shadowy corner. Nighttime is the worst, because it is then that maniacs run amok on the streets. That city is the very incarnation of evil and darkness. Even still, I love the Gotham City nights. Because it is in the blackest night that God's light shines brightest, and besides, isn't God in control of both the day and the night?

I won’t be getting back on for awhile. I’m sorry, but there are just too many things going on in my life, too many problems I have to solve, too many demons I have to face. You have all been good friends, but I guess that for awhile I’m gonna have to go it alone
Goodbye.

Wow....that's like, my favorite romance movie...

Your Love Life is Like The Princess Bride

"Since the invention of the kiss, there have only been five kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind."

For you, love is like a fairy tale - albeit a fairly twisted one.
You believe romance is all about loyalty, fate, and a good big of goofy fun.

Your love style: Idealistic yet quirky

Your Hollywood Ending Will Be: Perfectly romantic

Something on Cider Avenue

It was hard for twenty-one-year-old Kathy Milner not to cry as she hugged her worn purse tightly to her side. Cider Avenue was just as inviting and cheery as its name could imply, lined with a myriad of friendly little shops that attracted a crowd almost every morning, even though it was located in the worst part of town. Little Emily had always loved coming down here with her mother close at hand, peering though the windows to see the variety of merchandise that lurked in each one. Kathy could remember all the times that her daughter had asked for candy or toys, but had been denied for lack of money; and oh, didn’t she wish that she could have purchased something for the little girl before she’d been carted off to some unfamiliar place full of strangers. Poor Emily must be terrified, Kathy thought, feeling the tears prickling from behind her eyelids, but she forced them back. It wouldn’t help to start crying now.
It is often the little things that start off a turn of events; and that particular Tuesday morning it was barely even significant. Cerise and Raven Sullivan, being new in town, were “getting to know the territory” and exploring a bit. For those of you who haven’t already figured it out, the two teenage girls were really Aurora and Twilight, our stained glass angels; for Twilight thought it a better approach to conceal their identities in case anyone found out about the windows and connected too many dots.
Cerise was forever stopping constantly to examine the window merchandise, while her sister was forever hurrying along. Raven had never been one to fraternize much, and she didn’t like being out in public or around crowds. In fact, she loathed strangers. But Cerise, however, was completely the opposite, having an outgoing and friendly personality.
Raven was so busy looking around to make sure no one was starting at them, that she wasn’t watching where she was going, and tripped over an aluminum can which had been carelessly thrown on the walkway. She landed, face-flat, at the feet of a pretty young woman who exclaimed, “Oh my goodness! Are you all right?”
Kathy reached out her hand and helped Raven get up; and for just a second, their eyes locked. But that was all the angel needed, for in that span of time she read pain and sadness interlaced through the soft, soulful brown color.
“The real question is,” she answered carefully, “are you all right?
To Kathy’s horror, she suddenly burst into a torrent of tears. “No, I’m not all right!” she sobbed. “They’ve taken my husband and my baby, and now I’m alone in the world!”
“Please don’t cry,” Cerise said compassionately, the crystal fountain running down her own cheeks. “You’re never truly alone, because whether you know it or no, there’s always Someone who is waiting for you to run into His tender embrace for protection.”
Kathy looked up at the comforting words, and suddenly the tears ceased to flow. Even though she couldn’t quite understand what the girl meant, it felt nice to know that someone cared about her troubles, for once. “Why don’t you come with me,” she said quickly. “So we can talk in private.”
The two girls exchanged looks, then followed the woman who turned on her heel and headed toward home with a strange new courage in her heart.

The Man; or the Monster?

Opal stirred and moaned slightly in her restless, tortured sleep. A tendril of her chocolate hair, come loose from the messy ponytail tied back with a red ribbon, swept across her face and tickled her deathly white skin…someone was watching. She forced her bleary eyes open to behold Darkling sitting before her in the dim, dank slum with an amused look in his black eyes. How long had he been there?”
“Guess you took a little more’n was good for ya, huh Dagger?” he questioned tauntingly. “Ya been out for almost two days now.”
She couldn’t deny it any longer. This man---no, this monster---had her completely and totally under his control. He had to be a monster, with the way he’d treated that poor kid the other night. The sheer brutality and mercilessness of the beating inflicted upon him by the Bloody Angels made her want to vomit. She very nearly did as she pushed herself off the ripped, dirty couch and noticed the spattered blood-red stains on her creamed-coffee-colored tank top. What had she become?
Darkling laughed cruelly at the horrified expression on her face. “Yer too sort, kid,” he said. “We should git’cha to cut people up more often.” After a moment’s thought, he added, “Ya better change. Wouldn’t go over too well with yer family if they cawt’cha wearin’ that.”

My family wouldn’t notice, Opal thought sadly, what with Mom so sick, Dad avoiding me like the plague, and my brother who-knows-where. Still, Opal yanked off the bloodstained shirt and put on a gray jacket that she’d carelessly left here at their hideout on the first warm night of summer.
“I gotta go,” she muttered to Darkling, and stumbled out of the weather-beaten shack.

I was awarded....

I got awarded by nachoaveragegirl. She is a good friend to me. So here's the award, and the insription that will go with it...

"Those who receive this award are of the sweetest nature. They are kind, friendly, funny, loving, eager to share their love for Jesus with others, and brave in their efforts to reflect Him to this darkened world. They are the kind of folks you're blessed to know, even if it's only in the bloggy-sphere."

I know not who to award. This is one-of-a-kind! ^_^ But I will award Luv4Characters and SeaChel.

Will I ever make up my darn mind?

Alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllrighty then. I'm going back to Lavender Westmarch, the secret agent, on this blog account. I know, I know, you're like WHAAAAAAAAAT???????????? But I've gotten more inspiration for Starlight's story, except a little bit different. It'll kinda be like Hellboy 3, and it won't have the Teen Titans in it. Lavender herself has also changed a bit. For example, she doesn't really have a family, except for her father, for reasons that will be revealed later on in the story. SO. Instead of calling the real me Srrindi Azure or Lavender Westmarch, call me Sunnie Winchester. I set up my own account on which I will probably be posting most of the fanfiction that has me in it, and also the Ilbrethladwehn story. I've not quite filled in all the details of the account yet, but here it is: www.homeschoolblogger.com/profiles/SmartAleck. SmartAleck was dear Daddy's idea! *grin* Oh, and Raynea's got her own blog now. www.homeschoolblogger.com/profiles/ToxicSarcasm.

Here goes more about Timberwolf...

Just a little note, but here it is. Uncle Jack is now Uncle Ronnie; I think I've thought of TWO antagonists, actually. One is a girl, the last of the Hawks, another breed of animal that can think, speak, and occasionally look like a human; the Hawks were always bloodier than the wolves, and she wants to kill everyone in Golden Grove so that the magical beings can take over again. The other is Peter's younger brother, Anthony, who is confused about which side he wants to be on. That's all that I've thought up for now...by 3 today I should have the first chapter ready to post.

More about "Timberwolf"

I've been working on the "Timberwolf" story, and so far the story has evolved a LOT. So here's the story as it is now: Kayla Woodburn(also known as Little) loves to paint; one day her parents die in a car accident and being so terrified by the revelation, she runs into the forest of Golden Grove, where a vicious bloodthirsty pack of wolves is said to preside. They find her and start tearing her to pieces, but she is saved by a lone wolf who jumps in to fight off the others. Then a man takes her to a cave on the other side of the forest and he nurses her back to health, and helps her find her way through the forest back home.
That's Little's side of the story; now here is Peter's. For centuries, the wolf pack has had a vendetta against any and all humans, swearing to always take revenge for the cruelty dealt to them in the past. To them, humans will always be cruel and heartless. Every young wolf grew up hearing all of these terrible stories. But Peter was different. Once he saw a little girl playing with a little puppy on the edge of the forest, only to be ushered away by her mother; but these two were not cruel to the puppy. Peter thought that everyone was born with the ability to be good, if only they made that choice; and he refused to tear up anyone that walked through the forest. The other wolves called him a traitor, and as a result Peter went off on his own.
Once he met Little, he found himself wanting to see her again. So he again puts on the guise of a human(you see, every wolf born in Golden Grove can think and speak like a human if they so wish, and also take their form; the forest of Golden Grove is magical and always has been), dons a pair of glasses, and applies for a job at the diner of which Little's Uncle Jack(not her real uncle, but a close family friend that took Little in after her parent's death) was the owner. That is how he gets to know Little better, and she always has the feeling that she has seen him before, but she isn't sure until he reveals himself to her in the end.
As for antagonists, I haven't decided yet. Probably another wolf like Peter, maybe his brother or something, who thinks that Peter should pay for his betrayal. Or I was thinking, since the forest of Golden Grove is magical and all, maybe there would be this girl who works with trolls or something and she wants all the humans of Golden Grove to be slaughtered. I don't know! But as you can see, at least my mind is working here...

Bits and Pieces of My Imagination

Just so you all know, I think I’ll be changing my pen name to Sunnie Winchester. Sunnie for my sunny smile, Winchester for….well, that’s the latest last name that’s been on my mind. Anyway.
Obviously, I haven’t been posting much here on Good Night Gotham. Reason? Well, I moved RCSGW(Rose Colored Stained Glass Windows) to its own blog, and as for Nine Lives, it has just too many main characters to keep up with. I did get to chapter 8, though, and I may or may not post them. But Nine Lives has been discontinued. (Let’s all hope this doesn’t keep happening with all my stories!)
However, I’ve been thinking of a new story that will be a mixture of Nine Lives, Secret Voices of Enaelo, and another story you’ve never heard of(because I never started writing it) called Pittermouse Rock. I won’t go into detail, but the main gist of the story is that this girl named Clae Brunswick comes to Pittermouse Rock, a very isolated country town, and strange things start happening once she gets there.
Also, there is another story I’ve been wondering if I could write(I thought of it last night). I shall call it ‘Timberwolf’ if I do write it. It’s about a little girl named Kayla(you might recognize the name from one of my old, old stories, ‘What Love Can Do’) who gets lost in the woods near Golden Grove. A coyote attacks her, but she is saved by a sleek wolf with shining brown fur. She isn’t for sure, but she remembers blearily that the wolf was coming closer to her, and when she blinked, there was no wolf but a man, who picked her up and carried her to a cave in the woods where he took care of her until she was well enough to walk. Now her mother, Caryn, is a widow; her husband died three years ago and she still hasn’t gotten over it. Of course she’s worried almost to death when her daughter turns up missing, and she is astonished when this man named Peter shows up at the door, holding little Kayla’s hand. There will be a love story(duh, I’m a romancer here) between Peter and Caryn. They’ll get married in the end. But as for a main plot--like an antagonist or something--I have no clue. I’ll get it figured out.
If you visit “The Story Database”(linked on the sidebar), there will be a description for the story, “Imaginary Girl.” I have already finished writing that story, and I might start typing it up here. But hey, you guys are my friends, right? What’s your take on the matter?
~Lavender~
