"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

The quote is from Batman Begins. Excellent movie. :)

Welll...I almost forgot my password for this blog! It's been a LONG time! Too long, I'm afraid. I'm also afraid that's a movie quote. And I don't remember from where. =D Oh well.

Well, let's see. The trees are beginning to leaf out here, the grass is getting greener, and I'm loving it more and more every day. Winter is depressing, I think. This year, I found it hard to write all winter long. If you know me, you know I love to write. But, I literally could not write anything. It was terrible. But, with spring coming (and here, really) I've been able to write again. It's glorious. =)

This weekend is Easter weekend. Our church is putting on a drama for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. It should be really cool. I'm considering writing a short story on one of the (fictional) characters we created for the drama part. (I say we, I mean Daddy) So, I'm excited about the Easter Program (as it is affectionately known at our church) being this weekend! But, even more....do you know what's after Easter? NO????

CHURCH CAMP! Sorry for all of you wonderful people who just rolled your eyes and sighed. You haven't ever been to my church camp. And if you have, you haven't ever been with our group. It...well, words don't describe church camp very accurately. I love it. I'd live there, if they'd let me. =D But, they won't. =(

Also after Easter, my brother, his girlfriend and I are going to the Skillet concert! I can't wait! It's Skillet, Disciple, and Decypher Down. I love Skillet and Disciple, and really like DD's new stuff, so I am absolutely jacked (to borrow Luke's colloquilism). We're going with a cousin of ours, so it should be pretty amazing. Daniel said we got pretty good seats too. Not that I expect to sit overmuch. =P

We didn't have Spanish this week! It was...different. It didn't really feel like Tuesday without leaving the house at 8:30 in the morning and going and sitting in class for two hours. Granted, I got Algebra done. But I'm not sure which I'd rather do, Spanish or Algebra? Probably Spanish, to be brutally honest.

We don't have school tomorrow, since it is Good Friday. I can't wait for this weekend. I love celebrating Easter. It's always been one of my favorite holidays, not only because of the EP, but because, for me, as a Christian, it's an awesome time to really consider and focus on Christ's death. But, even more important for me, His Resurrection! His Resurrection is simply a foretelling of ours to come, even though it's also so much more. It's so neat to think that someday we too will be resurrected. But, it's also neat to think about the resurrection that has already occurred when Jesus rose from the dead. I love Easter.

I believe I'm going to go finish cleaning my room. =) What a lovely thought.

Manna: What is it?

Wow, I'm actually posting.
Well, I guess I'll just tell you about my birthday in this post. It was Sunday, the 16th of November. Maybe....I repeat maybe, I'll post pictures sometime. It was actually pretty cool.
The day before Mom and I went shopping for clothes, and then after Daniel's basketball tournament (which they won) we went to eat at Marketplace for my birthday. Daniel was MVP of the tournament, by the way. Anyways, the day of, I got up about 8, showered, got dressed for church, did my hair and makeup, ate breakfast (leftovers from the Men's Breakfast, yum!), and then we all opened presents. Then Sunday School...Bro. Gary told me I was getting old, and gave me a very large kiss on the cheek, and made all the guys and the girls sing to me...which was sweet, but...embarassing. That afternoon, we went up to church about 3 (after leaving about 1, to go home and eat birthday lunch which was fried chicken, oatmeal cheese bread, french fries w/ gravy, cake, and stuff) to play ping-pong. We had leadership class at 4, and then afterward, my mom suprised me by bringing cake and cheese dip (my favorite!) to class for us to snack on...which we did. :P Then we had class, the service, and all that stuff........
Yup, so there's my birthday. I spent most of it at chuch, but, hey, it was cool with me. And, the next weekend in our tournament, we won our first game of the season!!!!!! I was so excited...but, we should've won.
Okay, I've gotta stop rambing. I gotta go now.
Oh, and one last thing: a couple of days after my last post we went and saw Madagascar 2! It was awesome!

Never Fear Inconsequence, But Always Fear Inconsistency

Sooo....I haven't posted in....a long time???? A verryyy long time. But, yes, I am alive...who would post if I were dead? *slowly strokes chin* Things to ponder.
But, anyways, for now, on to business...or something. What have I been doing????

Basketball-we've had two games so far, practice twice a week....and....*dum da dum dah!* I have rolled my ankle twice (once tonight, once about a month ago), chipped a tooth, skinned my knee, almost got a black eye, and numerous bruises and scratches. I'm a rather...uh, agressive basketball player. ;)
I got braces! Yeah, much lots fun and all that jazz....but, no, it's actually pretty cool, and, the sores and gashes in my mouth are healing quite nicely, I think. I think I've eaten everything I wasn't supposed to...in all of the three weeks I've had them. :) I'm talented like that.
I'm in 9th grade. Enough said. I'm wayyyyy busy with school.
I'm working as a volunteer part-time secretary for my Dad. Meaning, I go and organize his office, clean said office, sort mail, throw away old papers, and generally do all those secretary things...it's pretty fun, and I'm told it'll look great on my transcript. :P No, I really do enjoy doing it. It's pretty much a blast.
On top of all that stuff, I have orchestra, spanish class, church activities (I recently got to do a Fall Festival at the church...well, I helped anyways...it was a lot of fun!!), sleeping, eating, breathing, blinking...oh, and I try to have a social life too. :P Yup, I have a busy life!
Add, on top of all that, blogging at Soli Deo Gloria, and pondering a few different missions opportunities for this summer, and...you've got my life.

Oh, and my birthday is coming up!!! I'll be fifteen! I can't decide if I'm excited...I mean, I am...but, do I really wanna get older? Oh well, I guess I do. :P
Tomorrow we have a homeschooly get-together thing, and then a highschol fellowship tomorrow evening, and then a hayride Saturday night. That's the whole social life thing. :)
Oh, and...be sad. I'm not doing NaNoWriMo. Why??? Go read my post again. There you go! I'll tell you more about it sometime...right now I believe I need to go and try to sleep for a while...beautiful thought, huh?
oh, and the quote in the title is mine, I'm afraid. I made it up one day playing basketball.

Live like yesterday never happened, and tomorrow's all that matters. Love like none of it matters anyways.

Soooo...what shall we discuss??? How about politics? My favorite! :) Not really, but...up there.
So, what are thoughts on the vice-presidential candidate debate? I heard part of it on the radio, and read about it on several websites, as well as reading the transcript. Oddly enough, I found the most interesting part to be when they were talking about which was worse: a nuclear Pakistan, or a nuclear Iran. Very interesting to hear each of their opinions. Also, I enjoyed hearing what they had to say about what would happen if either McCain or Obama died.
I thought Gov. Palin did a very good job last night. I've heard her critiqued as unprofessional, unpolitically, and just a bad speaker, relying too heavily on light-hearted quips. However, I have to disagree. I thought that while she might not be the greatest politician in the world, she gives it to you straight-up, and she tries to relate it back to the people. While Senator Biden was smooth, and may have answered questions better, I believe that the general favor for this debate goes to Palin.
What say you?

Is the pig out again? Oh, it's Lady Catherine. -Charlotte Lucas/Collins

Ah, yes, gotta love that quote from Pride and Prejudice.
First, random quote of the day:
They told me to abandon you, to make my dreams come true, so what am I suposed to do, if I only dream of you?
Anyways, moving on from that. I've been wondering....why do I blog here anyways? It's not like I have too much time (HA!), or that I need someplace to express myself...people who really want to know how I'm doing know me well enough to email me. Why do I do this, anyways? I don't do it to meet tons and tons of new people, though I greatly enjoy the people I've met here, and gotten to know better. I don't do it to discuss things with people...I don't do it just to do it. So, why do I do it, anyway?
The answer is this: One, I do it so that I can think straight for two minutes together. Two, I do it because I love to write, and I want to take every oppurtunity I have to do so. Three, it's a place for me to glorify God, give Him glory through events in my life, and to see His hand continually on me.
In one sentence? Jesus. He's the reason I'm here, the reason I'm alive, and the reason I blog here. Great as you people are...Jesus is all I want...all I need. And He's all the reason I do what I do.
Yeah, I have a lot going on I could post about, and intended to post about. I guess I could tell you that today was my first day of YCME, another day of Spanish, and that we're going to Rock the River with Seventh Day Slumber, Since October and Uttermost this Saturday...but, it comes down to Jesus. It's because of Jesus I'm alive (to quote a great song). With that in mind...think about what you're doing tomorrow. Then think about Heaven. We're only here for a little while. It's all about Jesus.

Once upon a time...

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Hannah who got her permit...and the person who gave her the test said that her eyes didn't work right...however, except for some headaches, and some dizziness, she didn't notice anything. But, then on Tuesday Hannah went to the eye doctor. And the eye doctor solemnly explained to Hannah what the problem with her eyes was. Her left eye wasn't working. If she didn't get glasses, eventually her eye would start to travel, and just stop. So, her right eye was all she was using. So Hannah went and picked out some pretty cool black frames with little jewely diamond things on the side, and got her prescription filled. Then, yesterday, Hannah went and got her glasses. She couldn't see very well for a while, and then her eyes hurt for a while...but, today, Hannah eyes improved slightly, and she can see a little better. The End.
Okay, so maybe I'll post a pic of my glasses when we upload them to the compy. If there's any typos, please excuse them...my eyes are still kinda freaking out.

Happy Birthday Emy!!!!!!

Today is my friend Emma's 16 birthday!!!!! :)
Emma, you have no idea what a great friend you are. Through the last year-and-a-half, we've gone through a lot together...as individuals and as friends. Thanks for sticking with me, girl! You have no idea how you've blessed me in so many ways...I don't know what I did before we became friends. You're always there to listen to me complain, sigh, cry (wow, that rhymed) and just be happy. Thanks for being there.
So, for your birthday....we're going to burn pancakes! :P It's the best I could do, dearie, even though we're not 62 yet. Or, you're not anyways. :) Sorry guys, inside joke.

What else can we do? We could finish our book...um, no. Let's go to a ball! (ish)

But, of course, since we're Baptist...dancing isn't exactly..well...anyways, moving on. Here's your BEAUTIFUL dress:

Isn't it just beautiful? And here's your wondermus tiara:

Oh that'd be SO beautiful in your hair, Emy dearest.
And, in honor of your birthday, the guest of honor (you'll find out who that is in just a second) will present you with this:

At your very formal (and very elegant) formal dinner hosted in your honor:

And your guests? Well, apart from your family, some friends (yes, Meggy and Toria included), here's the rest of your extended guest list:

:P And now the cake!!!

Isn't it lovely? It tastes good too...but, I bet it'd taste better with one of these:

Ahh...the wonders of sweets. :) But, where exactly is the party at, anyways?

Ah, just lovely, isn't it? So peaceful....
Well, I wish we could do all that...but, in reality, all I can say is "Happy Birthday, Emma!" and give you your present later on. :)
Love you much lots, girl!

It's Never Going to be the Same. But, it Can Always Be Better.

*sigh* I'm rather tired at the moment, so please forgive me. I don't know if anyone actually still reads my blog anymore....I never post. I will work on that this year!
So, since my last post...which was...a long time ago. I don't remember, actually, when I posted last, what I posted about, and what I've done since. But, I'll fill you in on what I do remember, and guess at the rest.
We started school three weeks ago. This year I'm doing Tapestry of Grace (which includes World History, American History, Church History, Literature, Timeline, Philosophy and such), Algebra I, Astronomy, Logic, Spanish, Piano, Violin, Orchestra, Basketball, and I can't remember what all else at the moment. If it occurs to me, I'll let you know. :)
So, in a week, every other Monday I have piano lessons, Tuesdays I have Spanish (and YCME here in a couple of weeks), Wednesdays I have church, Thursdays I may be going over to an elderly lady in our church's house, Friday, nothing yet, but something, prolly, and then weekends. Oh, and then add basketball practices in there, regular schoolwork, writing the Hobbs Record every month, doing both my blogs, and everything else...and, well, I'm busy. So, that's school.
We had FAN THE FLAME ON SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! If you weren't there, it was amazing. Man...it was really different. I've been to every Fan the Flame that there's been, and this one was definitely different than any other one I remember. We only had one decision made that day, but...let me tell you it was worth it all. The months of writing, revising, deadlines, brainstorming, talking about it by the hours....and I was informed this morning in Spanish that it's less than a year till the next one. ;P Give me just one week, please! :) I like having a life again...I think. :) No, I didn't really do that much. Most of the time, I just followed people around, and looked busy. But, I was told on Saturday that I looked like I was utterly exhausted....Thank you. I feel it. By Saturday night, I just wanted to go home, sleep, and cry for a while. :P I went home, read for a while, and then watched ping-pong for a while. Random? Not really. It was the Olympics. I think I fell asleep while watching it...not sure. I did play Agnus Dei with the band on Saturday, though. It was pretty fun. I actually didn't get nervous...or very little. I realized that God could use my mistakes...and really, it wasn't about me and how I messed up anyways...if people cared, that was their problem. My job was just to worship. :) Okay, sorry to vent. Moving on, I suppose....
The days before that....Wednesday night the service was really good. God showed me some...rather disturbing things about myself....and I got to take care of that before Fan the Flame. Thursday night we had outreach....Mykka and I had a really deep conversation in the van about darkness and light. It might not make sense to anyone now...but, it was really profound, actually. We were talking about whether or not there would be darkness in Heaven. :) Friday we had the "dress rehearsal" or "run-through" or whatever you want to call it, for Fan the Flame. I had Mountain Dew. :) It made me happy. Very happy, in fact. And, Rachel came!!!!! :P For clarification, this is my cousin Rachel, not the other one. I was much lots happy that she got to come and spend some time with me before FTF. The prayer time that night...wow. Tara and I got to pray together for a while...it was powerful. God was really working in our group, and it was way exciting. Anyways, we talked through some stuff that we were going through, and just prayed together....it was very cool. Saturday morning, my stomach decided to crawl up my spine...I almost threw up, I was so nervous. :) But, I got over it, and then PEOPLE got there! I mean, like, people! Like, people actually came to Fan the Flame! If you fail to see the significance, it's prolly cause I didn't tell you I had a dream that no one came to Fan the Flame. Yeah. ;)
Since then...Sunday was cool....Daddy told my rice pudding story in church. I was embarassed, but...it was funny, so I laughed...I think. I don't remember all of Sunday morning. It's kinda blurry. Sunday afternoon, I read...yes, all afternoon. Sunday night, we had an abbreviated service (really, it was!!) and then a fellowship where we ate the food left over from Fan the Flame. It was pretty cool...I think I was running a fever from exhaustion though....Tara commented that you could cook eggs on my forehead...and then CalebM asked if we could try it. We didn't, actually, for your information. I had some taco soup...it was pretty good...after that, we talked for a little while, and then went outside to do stuff...a lot of people played volleyball, but me and Emma and Mel went and played basketball for a minute...after a minute or two, though, I quit, and decided that I didn't feel well enough to play basketball at that specific moment. So, I went and talked to HannahElizabeth for awhile....and we listened to classical music for a little while. :) Long story. Mykka said it made her feel peaceful.
Yesterday was Monday, I guess....it was good. We had school, and then Caleb and I had piano lessons. So we went...and then we took Matthew M home with us for a while...we got out in the pool for a while...Caleb and Daniel had basketball camp, so they weren't home till after 7, and Daddy had a deacon's meeting, so he wasn't home till later. I think I read yesterday afternoon....or maybe I was on the compy. I don't remember. I think I read a Hardy Boys book of Caleb's. :P I have such a life.
Okay, now that I've bored you to death, and exhausted my memory...here's a quote from a movie I've never seen (so I can't recommend it)...I read this quote somewhere, and I loved it.
"So it's not gonna be easy. It's going to be really hard; we're gonna have to work at this everyday, but I want to do that, because I want you. I want all of you, everyday. You and me...everyday." -The Notebook.
Interesting, no???? I thought so. Not sure if it's dumb or sweet yet. We'll see.

It's raining out tonight, the world has lost it's sight...and then I hit the ground.

LBKDA! Man, I need to listen to those again. And, prolly nobody but Luke would have any idea what I'm talking about. Oh well, I'm posting, right?????
What's happened...we went filming. *sigh* I think I'll have to do my own dvd to explain everything that happens behind the scenes. Or maybe it doesn't need to be explained. :P
I got an mp3 player!!!!!! I've wanted one for a long time. But, I just recently got one...it's pink, and it's 2G, and it's a nextar. I like it because I can record voice, and radio....and listen to the radio. And, I can put video on it if I like...which, I haven't yet. Just a few pictures. I'm still working on getting all my music on there....I'm SLOWLY figuring out how to do it. I'm used to iTunes. But, oh well. :P So, I guess comment and tell me what's up with you guys!
This is short, but right now I have a lot of stuff to do....Hobbs Record, ftf stuff, my stuff, and then recover-from-school stuff....
