New Hobby...

Hello friends and family...I have a new hobby I just have to share with ya'll, Digital Scrapbooking..I am having soo much fun with this.. I am spending more time on the computer, online looking for new 'FREE' papers and stuff to download and then its over to Gimpshop ( a FREE program that works alot like photoshop) to make scrap pages, blog headers, blinkies, artist trading cards, Christmas cards, and everyday cards..The sky is the limit with what ya can make with a little know how..And the know how comes in the form of tutorials..I joined a scrapbooking site with a forum that is so friendly and helpful, if you don't know how to do something, all ya have to do is ask and someone will post a link to a tutorial about it.. This is sooo much fun to do..
Happy Scrappin',

Berry Pickin Time of Year

Here we are all dressed up to go berry pickin. It's early Sat morning. The earlier the better to beat the heat and the bugs. This place is covered with mosquitoes and spiders. So long sleeves are a must. And bug spray...This blackberry patch is out in the country with a corn field on one side and trees on the other side. We have been pickin berries here for a few years now and they just keep getting bigger. We went home with two 2liters full of berries this trip...That's one blackberry cobbler for me and one for a friend...The recipe comes from Mama...The best blackberry cobbler maker on this side of heaven...Hope ya get a taste of it this summer...Happy berry pickin....

Brown stripe Butterfly bag

Here is the bag I just finished this morning..This one is a smaller size..about 13 in wide by 11 in high...Luv this bright colour for the lining, I can find things easier in a light coloured bag..The tab on the left inside the bag is for hanging your keys from...just put one of those thingies that you open with your thumb on your keyring...This is a must for me or I would be forever looking in the bottom of my bag to find my keys...
I heart this bag...It is just my size...And when worn over the shoulder, it fits comfortably under the arm...Thank you McCall's for making such an easy to make and cute bag pattern...Happy sewing...

paisley blue

I just luv this purse pattern. This one is sooo easy to put together..The hardest part is picking 6 fabrics that 'sing' together.. And this one is big enough to carry the camera and all the other stuff I drag around with me almost everywhere we go...lol...
Happy sewing...

Something hubby brought home

Ya just never know what the hubby might bring home with him sometimes..It's pretty much always something he knows I will like.. And now its this old trunk.. Its really not that old..But it is mostly clean and all the hardware seems to work...And Woo Hoo was I excited to see what was inside...Full of fabric and a few old patterns..Most of the fabric is nylon ( that I have no use for, so I will pass it on to someone who can use it) and a few pieces of cotton fabric.. The green fabric on top has dragonflies printed on with a sparkle..I bought 1/2 yd of this same fabric a couple yrs ago, and when I went back for more , it was all gone..Sooo this is like seeing an old friend...This trunk sooo needs to be another colour...maybe a pale vintage blue...and some vintage wallpaper in something blue for the inside...This will then look very lovely in my sewing room...Oh, by the way, this was a freebee...Somebody just didn't have room for it anymore...

Pictures from the flower garden

Hello family and friends, while watering the garden the other day, I discovered these catapillars eating up this fennel plant ( that is just why we planted it there) ... The mother lays her eggs on the plant and when they hatch, the catapillars can stuff themselves on the plant and grow into beautiful Monarch butterflies...Only thing is .there is a birdbath not very far away, and we wouldn't want these little beauties to be bird food...Those pesty birds can just go find some good ole every day worms...lol...Hope ya enjoy the pictures...

Happy gardenin...

Visit with the Great Grandchildren

Hello family and friends, as most of you know, my Mom got to come up from Alabama and spend the last week with us here in Indiana...And she got to meet her great grandchildren. It was love at 1st sight... A great time was had by all, it just went by sooo fast, and before we knew it, it was 8 days later and time for Mama to go back home. Thank you LORD for giving us this special time together..

This is Nanny holding Emma with Gabe...

This is Nanny with her 1st (r) and 2nd(l) grandsons...Derek and Adam...

We spent Sunday afternoon here ...

The buildings on both sides of the Canal are homes, well one side is apartments and the other side is condos... Very pretty...This must be the apartment side, cause the condos have front porches with ceiling fans and hanging baskets of flowers...We walked down the condo side first and 3 miles later (lol) when we were on the other side, I must have been too tired to take any pictures of the prettier side ...Oops...

View from the bridge..
Well, hope ya enjoyed the picture show, I will be posting more in another entry...
Have a blessed day,
Cathy...
