The best laid plans...

This week has been good. Last week was a
total bust. School did *not* start on Monday...Daddy was off, so we
spent the day with him. Tuesday we played catch up, and I had doctor's
appointments Wednesday, Thursday, AND Friday morning!

So...this past week was our first week back to school, and it went
fairly well! We're starting back slow, with basically the "3 R's" but
the kids jumped right back in and we got quite a bit accomplished! I
only had one doctor's appointment this week...the chiropractor,
yesterday, and we had already planned to take the day off because Daddy
was off to celebrate his birthday! We BBQ'd (fajitas) and had my
parents and a couple friends over and had a pleasant evening.

We actually stayed semi on our routine/schedule this week, at least in
the mornings! Dancing, science class, and all our other activities have
started back up after the holidays. I have really been enjoying the
break from those, but the kids were ready to get back.

Today is just beautiful...64 degrees and sunny right now. The kids have
been outside almost all afternoon, I hate to call them in to get a few
things done around the house!

So...there's my quick update...now that things are hopefully getting
back into a routine around here I hope to be able to update this blog
regularly and share some of our projects and interests....
A New Year!

Well,
I'm finally going to take the plunge and start writing in this blog!
I'm really looking forward to the new year and a chance to start
fresh and get organized! The last year and a half have been very tough
for our family, and I've let many things go. Between July '04 and June
'05, we lost three unborn children and the physical and emotional
trauma took its toll on me and my plans for our household! But, God is
gracious, and we have a precious baby girl due to arrive the week after
Easter! I'm determined to have our household in order and functioning
the way I want it to before she is born!

I spent yesterday cleaning out the huge pile of junk that had
accumulated in one corner of our room. I was so tired of our room being
so cluttered, and besides, we'll need to put the bassinet there before
long! I've got a long way to go to get our room in shape, but it was a
start! I also went through a bunch of our papers and started getting
things ready for our tax return. The amount of medical stuff I had to
go through is unbelievable. Well, at least we'll get a really good
medical expenses deduction this year! =) I want to have everything
ready to go so that when the W-2s, etc. come in at the end of the
month, everything else is ready to go and I can get it sent in ASAP. No
waiting around until March this year, with the baby coming in April!

I didn't feel well this morning (guess I overdid it yesterday, LOL!) so
I haven't accomplished as much as I had hoped. I spent some time
jotting down some goals for both school and the house in a notebook and
brainstorming a bit. I've got a pot of ground beef almost done browning
and ready to package in 1 lb. portions and freeze, and I need to get
some bread made this afternoon!

My MOTH schedule is still posted and I'm ready to get back to it! We've
been doing pretty good about doing our daily chores, and the kids have
really been doing a great job in that area! I'm hoping to start back to
school tomorrow since we're somewhat behind where I'd hoped to be, but
this week it's going to be tough to stick to our schedule. I have an OB
and a cardiologist appointment Thursday morning and a chiropractor
appointment Friday morning. If we leave the house before lunch it
really throws our whole day off! I plan to do what I can.

So...there's where I'm at! Hopefully I'll find time to post more as I accomplish some of these goals!
