The Princess and the Goblin&lt;/u&gt; , written by George MacDonald, was first published in 1872.&amp;nbsp; George MacDonald was a prolific writer.&amp;nbsp; He is best known for his fantasy works which inspired a new generation of writers (including C.S. Lewis and J.R.R.
