Amazing

This week our bible memory verse is "So in everything, do to others as you would have them do to you.." Matthew 7:12. This has helped my kids with arguing. I really use the bible verses that we learn when they are doing things they shouldn't and most of the time it works very well. On Tuesday we had just finished reading our bible story and saying our prayers, and I got up to get started on the rest of our school day when my three year old said"Mama how do you get to heaven?". I was so happy and shocked at the same time that my three year old daughter would ask a question like that. I just silently said a quick prayer that went something like "God please help me to say the right thing to her right now." Then I explained it to her in a way I hope she understood. Sometimes my kids amaze me.

Were Back

We have been so busy with moving and getting settled in that I have not had time to post anything. We are settling in to the new house and trying to meet some people. However, living in the country it is a little harder to do. We went to the local Christmas parade and visited a church this past weekend.
Some things we have been doing: we went to see a Snow White play. It was great my kids keep asking to go to another play. We had a good Thanksgiving with all our family but missed our friends terribly. We also have two new puppies. They are so cute. Ethan's is Shadow and Hailey's is Taffy. They will need to go to the vet for a checkup in a couple weeks so I decided we would do a lapbook on pet care. My kids are really into the puppies and so they are very excited about the lapbooks we are working on. I will try to post some pictures when we get done.
Here are just a few pics of the kids and their new pets.

My Little Superhero

My son wanted a Spiderman costume for his birthday. So that is what we got him. He has loved Spiderman for several years now. He wears the suit everywhere, to Wal-mart, to the park, etc. I make him wear regular clothes for church but other than that I let him wear it if he chooses. We played a game the other day and I asked him to tell me four things he might want to be when he grows up. He said a Superhero and Secret Agent. So I asked him for two more and he did not want to but finally said firefighter and doctor. However he said I just said those two but I am not going to be that, I only want to be a Superhero or Secret Agent.

Plants

This past week we learned about plants. We read books, watched videos, and crafts. Our favorite was our bean seed experiment. My kids could do this kind of thing all day everyday. We planted several bean seeds and put them all in different places. We are making sure that some have sun, water and air. Each of the others we have taken away one thing plants need to grow. We are going to see the differences. We are also keeping a log.of what we see. We have one plant in the fridge, the life of a homeschool family. We also have a banana plant that we planted a few weeks ago.
