King Tut/Ancient Egypt resources...

Anyone have any great books, websites, activities to teach preschoolers about King Tut/Ancient Egypt? I'm sure there is stuff out there, I've just not spent the time to look. I'm being lazy and asking a few friends first...lol

Aaron is currently obsessed with King Tut, so I thought it'd be good to find some info/activities for him. Okay, okay, obsessed is a little strong. He is quite interested though. He picked up one of our student atlases yesterday morning and it has a picture of King Tut's burial mask on the front. He brought it to Kev and said, "Look daddy that is little King Tut" and he keeps asking me to read about King Tut and isn't getting that the atlas isn't a book about King Tut.

The Queen suggested "Out of this world" and Rivergallery "Outta Here" in the end he decided to use them both. He planned Out of this world for the blog name and Outta Here for his blog addy. Blogger said it was unavailable, so he went to plan B and combined the two for his blog name. Without further ado...
Rock's Outta This World Blog We tried several of the suggested names for the blogger addy and they weren't available...he ended up with www.mylifeasarock.blogspot.com so be sure and add it to your bloglines (or save in favorites) so you can check back and see what ponderings of the deep he shares.

Wow, almost 30 suggestions! You guys are pretty creative! I printed a list of all the entries and Rocklin has narrowed it down to eight. It's still open until tomorrow morning, but so far he will be choosing from 8 entries...he is kickin' around blending a couple of them...in that case, more than one of you will win a potholder or drawing.

**sorry for the duplicate posting for those that read both blogs.**

Rocklin will be 7 soon and he's VERY excited to join the blogging world. One problem though. He CANNOT decide on a name for his blog. He's thought and thought and just can't come up with anything. So, tonight at dinner, he decided he'd like to have a contest. My children are currently "into" contests...they had a contest today to see who could build the silliest Mr. Potato head.
Here's how it works, I'll give you a few tidbits about him and then you think up a neato name and leave your ideas in the comment section. On October 26th, he will pick a name and set up his blog. To find out who win's you have to check here on October 26th for a link to his new blog. The winner will receive their choice of items made by Rocklin...winner can choose ONE of the following:
1. a woven potholder
2. a framed drawing
3. a surprise set of papercrafts that might include boats, airplanes, puppets, paperdolls, etc

Okay, now for some info that might be helpful to you...
Rocklin LOVES astronomy, astronauts, space shuttles etc.
He also really enjoys reptiles of all sorts, especially snakes.
His first real word was "football" and he's enjoyed sports ever since...especially soccer and tennis.
Rocklin loves music and art. He plans to learn to play piano, drums, guitar, violin and trumpet and he draws/paints constantly.
His blog will be about "all sorts of stuff. Space, reptiles, space, school, space, music, space, art, space and maybe some other stuff too"

So, help a fella out and give us some suggestions for his blog name!

After the last post, we decided to take a bit more time off before starting the school year. So, yesterday was the kickoff to the new year. I typed a looonnnnnggggg post with lots of pictures last night and lost it just before posting. So, I gave up and went to bed. Magdalyn is in Kindergarten! We only did math, phonics, penpaling and read-a-loud for today...we'll begin other subjects next week. I had planned to jump in full blast, but for various reasons, it's going to work better for us to ease into things. (Sharon, don't faint when you see that my children are working on math...it was shortly after you left and I had to get them occupied with something, or else two of them were going to fall apart. Okay, who am I kidding, they did fall apart...but distraction worked to get them back together fairly quickly.)
