I love watching my 2 sweet girls with each other. There is a 6 year difference between the 2 of them and I was worried that they would not like each other. I know that was silly of me.

I let my 8 year old sleep in this morning. My 2 year old was in the living room playing and heard me open the door to her sissy's room. She came running and said, "My Sissy Bug is wakin." Her sister grabbed her up into her bed and they are still in her room snuggling and playing. I love how much they love each other.

Hello Again

WOW!!! Life has been really hectic lately. Life is always wacky but lately it has been Really wacky. Last week my girls passed around a stomach bug. I found out that my brother is getting married in less than 2 months and wants my 2 year old daughter to be the flower girl. Everyone is probably thinking the same thing that I was. He must not know children if he thinks a two year old is going to walk slowly down an isle and sprinkle flowers. Luckily his girlfriend is reasonable and decided that my 8 year old and 2 year old could do it together. He also decided that my husband and I are going to sing at his wedding. I guess he knows that he has me wrapped around his little finger and that I would do most anything for him. After going thru all of this last week, this week has been just as eventful. We had a wonderfull seminar at church Sunday. It went on all day and my 2 year old didn't get a nap. Isn't it amazing how it can take a 2 year old several days to recover from missing one nap. LOL!!!! Both daughters passed around a head cold Monday and Tuesday because of our lovely Louisiana weather. I had an eye doctors appointment Monday. I got my new eye glasses today. I did not realize how bad my vision really was until I put on my glasses. I am hoping the glasses will also help with all of the headaches that I have been having lately.

I didn't realize just how wacky the past 2 weeks have been until I just read back what I wrote. I wouldn't trade the craziness for anything. Life would be way to boring and no fun if things didn't come up and if plans didn't change. I love my life and everything that God has blessed me with.

Happy Helper?

I was watching Barnie today with my 2 year old daughter(I know how some people feel about cartoons but for the most part I think Barnie is very educational), and believe it or not, I actualy learned something.

The children were learning how to be good helpers. Here is part of a song they sang. "I'm a happy helper. Show me what to do. I'm a happy helper. I love helping you. I'm a happy helper."

I never thought that a Barnie song could teach me something. After I was finished watching the show with my daughter I got to thinking. Am I a "Happy Helper?" Do I find joy and pleasure in my God given role as helper to my husband?

WOW!! All of this from Barnie? I think My Heavenly Father used the message in that cartoon to speak to my heart. I have not been "The Happy Helper" in every way that God wants me to be. How many times do I grumble to myself when my hubby asks me to add something to my already busy day? Do I always make a special effort to look nice for my hubby? Do I always give my hubby my undivided attention when he is talking to me or am I going over my to-do list in my mind while I am half listening to him? What is the expression on my face when I am talking to my husband? That is a big one for me.

I love my husband. I want him to know that. I want to be the helper that God wants me to be. How do I live up to this? PRAY, PRAY, and PRAY!!! Read the scriptures that teach about being a wife and helper.

Genesis2:18, Philippians 2:3, Ephesians 5:22-24, Colossians 3:23, Ephesians 5:33, 1 Corinthians 7:3-5, Proverbs 10:12, Ephesians 4:29, and Proverbs 31:10-31.

There are many others.

After you pray and read, put everything that The Lord has taught you to work. Ask your husband how you can help him. I try to ask my husband the following questions every morning. Do you have anything that you would like me to pray about throught the day? Is there anything special that you would like to see done around the house by the end of the day? Would you like something out of the ordinary cooked for dinner? Some times I just surprise him with that one. Do you need me to do any thing for you today(run an errand, make a phone call, etc.?)

Make an effort everyday to do something special to show your hubby how much you love him. Encourage him. Tell him how much you appreciate him. Make an effort to learn all that you can about his job, that way when he talks to you about it you will understand. When he talks to you turn off the t.v. or radio and focus all of your attention on him.

Always make sure that everyone knows by your actions and speech that you love and support your husband. Never talk bad about him to any one. Always show the upmost respect to your husband in public and private. I have learned this the hard way from personal experience.

There is so much more that I would love to share but the weather is getting really bad here.

Please know that I am not an expert when it comes to marriage but God has brought our marriage thru a lot in our short 9 years. God has laid it on my heart to share my experiences(I have learned to do what God says.) I hope that God may use my experiences to help someone else.

Thank You For Your Prayers

I wanted to say thank you for your prayers. This has been a very hard time for our family but we have truly felt The Lord's presence.

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST

We found out last night that my husbands 12 year old cousin passed away. This is a huge loss for our family. This is the 2nd child that his Aunt has lost. She still has 3 living children. PLEASE keep our family in your prayers. We know that God will bring us thru.

Bandages and Ouches

I had to share this story with everyone.

This evening I was in the living room helping my hubby with something for his job. Our 2 girls were in our bedroom watching a movie. After being in there for about 5 minutes they came out, the 8 year old holding the 2 year old. Our youngest daughter said, "look out my bo-bo mama." My husband and I just started laughing. Our oldest daughter made a sling out of an ace bandage and put her sisters arm in it. You should have seen the serious face on my 2 year old. She really thought that because her arm was wraped up that she was really hurt. They ran back in our room and about every 5 minutes they would come into the living room with some other body part bandaged up. I love the imagination of our daughters.

I wanted to tell everyone thank you for your advice. My husband and I are going to spend time in prayer about setting some house rules and STICKING to them. I think that some of our problem is that we have not always stood by our decisions regarding house rules and discipline. We are really trying, thru prayer, to get back on track.

I want my daughters to grow up different than I did. I want them to know what it means to be the woman, wife, mother, and homemaker that God wants them to be. I want them to know and understand the word of God. I want them to know and understand the faithfulness of our Father. I don't think these are out of our reach. I also want my daughters to know and understand the responsibilities of a homemaker. I was not taught these things growing up and have had a very tuff time learning how to be a good homemaker. My home and family has suffered from it and I don't want my daughters to go thru that.

I need some help. My 8 year old daughter thinks she is "the mama". She is always bossing her 2 year old sister around. I would love anyone's advice. I am about ready to take the day off and let her be "the mama". LOL!!!

Family Time

Thank you everyone for your prayers and sweet comments concerning my daughter. She is doing wonderful and is back to her 2 year old self and everything that comes with being a 2 year old.

We have gone several months without a vehicle big enough for all four of use to ride in so for the past couple of days since we got our new car we have been on the go. We have all been so excited to spend some family time together away from the house. We went out to eat and shopping. My hubby even had a good time clothes shopping with us girls!!! I love my sweet hubby. He was just glad that we were all together.

We have made several purchases for our house that we just couldn't afford during the year so they had to be put off until tax time. Now our house is cluttered while I try to find everything a home. We finally got to buy a deep freeze. I am so excited. Now I can take advantage of sales at the grocery store. That will save us a lot of money.

There are several other things on my mind but it will have to wait until tomorrow.

Answered Prayer

I wanted to thank everyone for there prayers for my family. My sweet hubby has found us a car. It is an older car but it has been well taken care of and has low mileage for how old it is. The best thing is we paid cash for it and we will have no monthly payment. The LORD is AWESOME and ANSWERS ALL PRAYERS!!! My daughter is so excited that we can all go to the grocery store together. I think that is soooo sweet.

I haven't been able to blog the past couple of days because my 2 year old has a stomach bug. She has been pitiful. She has a really bad diaper rash and cries every time she goes potty. None of the diaper rash ointments were working. The nurse in our pediatricians office told us to get some Boudrous Butt Paste and it has worked wonders. This is the one time that I am glad she has been so hard to potty train. I would have a lot to clean up if she wasn't still in diapers. Please keep her in your prayers.

I hope to be able to start posting daily soon. I am really trying to get my life and household in order. I am a very unorganized person and I am finding it very difficult to stay focused and on course. I would love to hear about other womens struggles and triumps when it comes to being the women, wife, mom, homemaker, and homeschooler that God wants you to be. I pray that God will bless us all in our efforts.
