<title>Everything family blog - Homeschool Blogger</title>
<description>We are a homeschooling family of 5. Our school is our life and we are very active. We like child-led, interest-led, Christ-led learning. This takes us on many different paths from school-at-home, to unschooling, to classical, to eclectic. We use Robinson, Abeka, Saxon, Oldfashioned Education, Ambleside and anything else that will fit the need at the moment. We learn, play and grow together.</description>

<title>Classical Education defined</title>
<description>I found a great site to define classical education http://home.earthlink.net/~rivedu/Classedu.html
We are begining our first year of Classical Conversations www.classicalconversations.com
I have studied classical education for 4 years but I just finally &quot;got it&quot; this year and we are proceeding with a group of other families to teach the classical model, meeting once a week for encouragement, review, etc.
I also found a great history resource http://www.albright-news.com/history.html

<title>Salem Ridge Press Contest</title>
<description>Salem Ridge Press Good Summer Reading Contest!
1:17 AM, Jun. 23, 2008 (You can read the same on TOS porch)

The relaxing days of summer are a wonderful time to read, and yet for homeschool moms, taking a break from school doesn&amp;rsquo;t mean taking a break from your standards for your family&amp;rsquo;s reading materials.&amp;nbsp; You still want your children to read wholesome, well-written books.&amp;nbsp; We at Salem Ridge Press would like to help you by giving away some free books!&amp;nbsp;

&amp;nbsp;
Salem Ridge Press is a publishing company, established in November, 2005, dedicated to bringing back quality children's books of the 1800's and early 1900's for a new generation of readers. As homeschoolers ourselves, we work hard to find and republish the very best books available so that we can help you provide books for your family that you can feel good about giving them.

A few months ago we sponsored a contest through The Old Schoolhouse Magazine and were delighted with the interest it generated.&amp;nbsp; We are striving to build our reputation with homeschoolers as a trusted source of excellent books, both for use as history supplements and simply for great reading.&amp;nbsp; Our hope is that once families have the opportunity to see and read one of our books, they will come back for more.&amp;nbsp; In our current contest, twenty-five families will each receive the softcover book of their choice from the eighteen titles we have republished so far.*&amp;nbsp; Then, we would like to bless one special family with a grand prize of a full set of all eighteen of our titles - that is approximately a $250 retail value!&amp;nbsp; We are excited to be sponsoring this contest and thrilled to share our books with you.&amp;nbsp; We hope you enjoy them as much as we have!
We also invite you to sign up on our website for our quarterly newsletter and another opportunity to win a free book.&amp;nbsp; We anticipate publishing seven more titles this year, and as we publish each new title, we will choose one family to receive a free copy.&amp;nbsp; Your family could be one of the first to read a newly republished title, many of which have not been in print for nearly a century!
*If a family selects Down the Snow Stairs, they will receive it in hardcover since it is not available in softcover.
To enter this contest you need to visit

&amp;nbsp;www.salemridgepress.com/listing.html and browse through&amp;nbsp;the books and then come back here&amp;nbsp;and leave a comment on which book&amp;nbsp;you would like to win.&amp;nbsp; Please give the exact book title as shown in the list.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Don't forget to&amp;nbsp;tell all your friends about this great contest!

You must be at least 18 years of age to enter and live in the United&amp;nbsp;States.&amp;nbsp; You do not have to have an HSB blog to enter this contest.&amp;nbsp; You will also need to leave a way to contact you, either by leaving your e-mail address in your comment below,&amp;nbsp;(you can leave it cryptically) or by leaving a link to your blog or website where your e-mail address can be accessed.&amp;nbsp; I will not be leaving comments to notify you and if you don't leave a&amp;nbsp;way for me to e-mail you then your entry won't go in the hat.&amp;nbsp; You can read full contest rules HERE.&amp;nbsp;

As stated above there will 26 winners for this contest!&amp;nbsp; Winners are chosen randomly.&amp;nbsp; Contest ends July 6th!
