Hi Everyone

~alizona here. Cherise said I have to write an introductory post, so here I am!

Well, let's see... I think most of you know me... well, know OF me, at least. I participated in February Madness, but this is my first NaNo. I'm 15 years old and desire to love the Lord my God with all my heart, soul, strength, and mind. He has been so wonderful to me, and I want to serve him with my whole life. I have three younger sisters, and live in the desert. And I love to write. Oh yeah, and I'm homeschooled, too. (Okay, sorry, I'll cut the unnecessary info.) I play the violin and have one student, besides teaching two of my sisters. I also play the piano, and enjoy crocheting on occasion. For less than a week now, I've been working on tennis. And I survived Algebra. Both of them. In fact, I LOVED both Algebra 1 and 2. I guess that's all you really need to know about me right now.

My NaNo novel is a book that I actually started writing a couple years ago, but it died on me. So now I am completely re-writing it. I didn't even go back and read through it. And, as it turns out, the way it has twisted around in just one week, no one would know it was even the same book, except that one of the character's names is the same. Sorry, I'm not telling what it's about yet, because... well... I'm still working on my plot. Pretty much making it up as I go along. It will be cool to see what I have at the end of the month! I'm sure of one thing, it will be nothing close to what I started with.

Well, I've made it through week 1 just fine, and I'm anticipating the rest of the month with excitement and a little trepidation. We'll see how it goes!

Introducing... Narniagirl

Well, hello! I'm Narniagirl, also known as Kylie. This is my first year doing NaNo, but I've been a writer much longer than that. I'm a servant of my King, and I love using my pen (or keyboard) to glorify Him.

My love for writing started early on. The first story I wrote at age 5, about a group of cats and dogs who found a castle in the sky. It just went on from there. It's only recently that I've started taking writing seriously, and I have many stories waiting to be finished. My main project right now is a fantasy novel about a girl who makes several unexpected discoveries that completely change her life. It's the longest project I've stuck to and I plan to see this storyline through to the end. When I'm not working on that, I write articles for several sites I manage and/or contribute to.

Despite my inclination towards fantasy, the book I'll be working on during NaNo is pretty different. It's about a young teen, Shae, who also makes several surprising discoveries. She is the daughter of an uber-famous movie star, but then she finds out that she is not who she thinks she is. Life seems so empty, but can she possibly find the answers amidst this confusing mess she's been thrown into?

It's going to be...interesting, to say the least. God will be the focus of this book, and I'm hoping that this book will seem deeper than most others written for teens. I'm actually not doing the adult NaNo, but I decided to start small and do their Young Writer's Program. My word count goal is 25,000.

I'm excited about setting off on this journey, and I can't wait to hear from you!

Boy, has it really been THAT long since I posted?!

Well, I do appologize for my absence. School has a habit of ... kidnapping me, shall we say. All is well on the NaNo front with less than a week before the long awaited opening day of NaNo. I am very excited, and sad. Alas I had to leave my idea for my book "Ghost Hunter" to the wayward side because, well, I started it. There, I said it. I was so excited about doing NaNo I began writing and then didn't stop until I realized what I had done. So, I'm switching gears to a new book. It spins off of a series I started a little over a year ago, and into a new series that I created not more than six months ago. Never fear, I will post much of my chapters and such, hey that rhymed! Ahem, on here. The new name for my book is called "Attack from the Skies" and is a WWII era style book, packed with explosions, actions and faith. I am really really really excited for NaNo!!!
Phil,
P.S. Do you need me to send you a bio Cherise?

What to do, oh, what to do...

Laura here. First off, I thought I would be nice and update this blog instead of posting this on the forums. Although I'll probably get more comments on the forums...*ponders*

Anyway, I told you ppls that I was writing a book called "Second Dimension" for my NaNo novel. Well, I recently came up with a new plot for a book. I do not want to write this for my NaNo book, and therefore I am wildly protesting and arguing with my Muse, Arual. (random: who out there actually likes their muse? Meh.) I cannot get this idea out of my head, indeed it has been growing on me and I am starting to almost like it. BUT I NEED TO WRITE SECOND DIMENSION FOR MY NANOWRIMO BOOK!!!!!!!! *flails* So I am just writing an outline for this idea of mine, then I was going to write it after NaNo.
But here is my problem:
What if I get inspired for this other book while doing NaNo? I refuse to write it for NaNo, so that is not an option.

What to do? Can I still work on it during Nano? or is wroking on two different books not allowed? Help, please!!!

Well....

Hello, all you lovely Wrimos! I'm so glad to see that you have been following my instructions and posting!! Unfortunately I have not gotten time to read all of them (shameful moderator that I am), but rest assured I have seen them!

I have come to announce that it is October. Hopefully you knew that already.

We have approximately 3 weeks until NaNoWriMo!!! Ack!!

As for me, I know that I am woefully behind in my planning, and unless some major action is taken in the next few days.... well, I don't like to think of where I'll be in November.

But anyways, I have posted to say this:

I have started cleaning out the forums, and we now have a separate section just for this year! Which means that yes, you may go back to the forums now.

Please, visit them. Post something. If you can figure out what on earth to post about, look in the archive section at the bottom. You're sure to find plenty of ideas there.

For you veterans, remember all the fun we had on there last year? For me, those wildly enthusiastic discussions beforehand were part of what made NaNoWriMo so special.

You have no excuse. Go visit the forums and post. I will be checking them periodically today, and if I find any new posts I will be sure to reply!

I have been a horrible moderator, and I apologize. I'll try to post again sometime in the next week. Sound good?

Good luck on your planning!

Suddenly a shot rang out

I hope I am doing this right, I don't really remember how it works. You can rebuke me if I messed things up. :D
Anyways, I am going to try and do NaNo this year, though I doubt I shall have time. However, I have come with this tiny problem-I have no plot. I do have a very sketchy outline-like two sentances long, but I was wondering if anyone would mind throwing in ideas that I can think about? If you would rather not then I will not draw my sword on you.
Heather

Plot outline.
A aged king on his death bed. His three living sons fighting for the throne. They will do whatever it takes to get the crown-even if it means killing a helpless little boy-who is found to be the true heir to the throne-the heir their father chose over them. When the people learn of the boy and the reasons the king chose him they hurry to him and take him from the castle. Now the boy finds himself in the care of two unruly cousins and their guide.
However, when the brothers learn who has the boy, they set out to find him-determining to kill all who dare stand in their path. Can the people keep the rightful heir alive long enough for him to reach manhood?

Introducing ~ Miss Eyebright

Hello!

Well, you all know that I'm a writer, so I suppose I can dispense with the obvious. Now that we have established that, I can tell you what kind of writer I am. Do you really want to know? I'm a lazy, ignorant, fickle, inconstant writer. I generally don't care for research, I don't know a lot to begin with, and I rarely ever stick with a project long enough to finish it. It's sad, I know. Despite all of this, I still have great hopes of becoming, if not a famous at least an established, authoress. Perhaps participating in NaNoWriMo will help push me towards that dream.

I like to think that I enjoy writing in several different genres, but I don't feel that my stories fit the stereotypes that people place on those genres. If I write in fantasy, I seldom have mythical creatures or magic in it. I like to write fantasy simply because I don't have to hold myself within the confines of history or geography.

Despite saying that, I am still interested in writing historical fiction, or what could be called realistic fiction. I have a couple stories that feel like they could be in a real place or time, but do not actually say when or where the tale takes place. Again, this is so that I don't have to be confined to details. I told you I was lazy, didn't I? I do research somethings, for instance, vintage toasters, and someday I would like to write a true historical fiction book, but for now I'm content.

Another "someday" for me, is to write a Christian science fiction novel. I don't have any plans for one right now; I simply look forward to putting that on the agenda sometime in the future. (Pun possibly intended)

As to my personal self, being unrelated to my writing self, I enjoy many diverse hobbies. Crocheting, reading, blogging, sewing, photography, and traveling, to name a few. I may be one of the only people you know who gets thrilled about knitting, to the point of loosing sleep. I am a perfectionist, a part-time purist (no fruits & veggies in my jello, please!), a mess-maker, an organizer, an older and oldest sister, bossy, indecisive, impetuous, and probably many other things as well.

Finally, if you want to get to know my better, in spite of all of this, you can read my blog,
Defective Compositions. I post irregularly almost every week, so be sure to stop by often. If I'm not there, I'm probably up in my attic bedroom knitting furiously.

Greetings from an Insane Authoress

Hello! I'm Arianna Joy! I have two alter-egos! Patience and Christy!

About us:

I am a 16 yr-old authoress who has always loved to write, act and play. I am very outgoing and childish. I write fantasy, sci-fi and some of the time, realistic fiction. I wear dresses all the time. The only time I wear pants is when I just need to wear pants. I wear blue reading glasses only when I'm writing, reading, or on the computer. I am 1 of a family of 5. I have a very creative family, and I am proud to have such a family!

Christy's my "mean" Alter-ego. She's a time traveling superhero! She is called the Mountain Devil. She chronicles the life of the Cougar! She's the part of me who likes to play games, watch movies, and read books! Christy is sweet only when she wants to be..........

Patience is my calm, reserved self. She thinks everything over and decides on the right thing to do, though Christy steers me out of doing the right thing, Patience helps me to learn ways to calm myself. She is everything good inside of me! I write to her everyday and she replies inside my head. Thank you, Patience for being there for me!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Welp, that is my introduction! Nice to be here in NaNoWriMo! Thanks for reading!
