Dance Company

I made the company!! Now I'm doing the Nutcracker and I'm party girl, Chinese, Snow, and polcinelle. Me and my friend Peyton switch off doing fouette turns with flexed feet in polcinelle. It's really fun!! I do fouettes in two of the shows, and she does them in the other two.

There is this ballet competition in South Carolina that my mom might take me to go and watch! that would be fun!

Oh, IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!! I don't have ballet today, but I'm going to the mall.

Piquita!!!

In ballet, we're doing Piquita! We're doing the real dance that the professionals do on pointe! We're doing it on pointe too, but we're learning it on flat. It's really hard though. Especially since it's fast. My ballet teacher said, as we (and her) were all panting and sweating, "It's breath-taking...in a very tiring way!"

So, I'll post more about it later. I am trying to limit this blog to only ballet news. It's kind of hard though, because sometimes, when I don't know what to post on my HeatherRose11 blog, I just copy and paste a blog from here...and that's what I might do today! lol

Bye!

Talent Show

Our homeschool group is having a talent show this summer, and my friends and I want to do something in it! last year, we performed the song "Matchmaker" from Fiddler on the Roof. This year we might perform the song "So Long, Farwell" from The Sound of Music.

I also might do a ballet dance solo on pointe, and maybe one with my friend Ashley too, who is a dancer as well.

Here's the lyrics for the song we might do, "So Long Farwell"

Children:]There's a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hallAnd the bells in the steeple tooAnd up in the nursery an absurd little birdIs popping out to say "cuckoo"[Marta, Gretl, Brigitta:]Cuckoo, cuckoo[Children: Marta, Gretl, Brigitta: ]Regretfully they tell us Cuckoo, cuckoo But firmly they compel us Cuckoo, cuckoo To say goodbye . . . [Marta, Gretl, Brigitta:]Cuckoo![Children:]. . . to you[Children:]So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night[Marta:]I hate to go and leave this pretty sight[Children:]So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu[Friedrich:]Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu[Children:]So long, farewell, au revoir, auf wiedersehen[Liesl:]I'd like to stay and taste my first champagne[Children:]So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye[Kurt:]I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye -- Goodbye![Brigitta:]I'm glad to go, I cannot tell a lie[Louisa:]I flit, I float, I fleetly flee, I fly[Gretl:]The sun has gone to bed and so must I[Children:]So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbyeGoodbye, goodbye, goodbye
