Saturday Psalm & Praise - Go Light Your World

Saturday Psalm & Praise - Go Light Your World

I have been thinking a lot about how I can be a witness and win souls for Christ. I am always reminded of a song that I love, though I've only heard if sung once or twice and only know the verse part of it. It is called "Go Light Your World."

Go Light Your World
There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
There is a Spirit who brings a fire
Ignites a candle and makes His home

It is sad how many children know Christ as a little child, but when they grow up, they see only silliness instead of Salvation. We must get the Word to young souls who could be used for God's glory, not for Satan's pleasure. We must again spark up a flame in the hearts of young ones for the Lord, and let it not go out, as the Five Virgins did.

So carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

We must carry *our* candles out into the darkness of the world, with the Sword of the Spirit in our righthand. The Gospel is the only way that this world will ever better from this disease called "sin." We must seek out the helpless and the ones who are confused by Satan and bring them to the awesome truth of God's love. He is not willing that any should perish -

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

He doesn't want anyone to go to hell. Yes, Hell is a real place. It was not meant for humans though; it was meant for the devil and his [fallen] angels.

Frustrated brother, see how he's tried to
Light his own candle some other way
See now your sister, she's been robbed and lied to
Still holds a candle without a flame

We must seek out the lost who try to find their own way to salvation, when there is only one way - Jesus Christ.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

He is the Mediator between God's judgment for our sins [which would be eternal separation from Him] and us. He is the One who gave His life so that we might live forever without fear of Satan and his minions. He gives us power over them, and we have no need to fear anything, save God Almighty.

So Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the lonely, the tired and worn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

Hold out your candle for all to see, so that they might see the dazzling light of Christ's love for us. It is

hard to fathom why God, our Maker and the Creator of the universe and all that's in it, would come down from heaven and die a criminal's death for us. God's love is truly great!

Cause We are a family whose hearts are blazing
So let's raise our candles and light up the sky
Praying to our Father, in the name of Jesus
Make us a beacon in darkest times

Let remember that we are all family, we all came from Adam and Eve and we are all of one blood. (Acts 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth...) If enough people raise candles to the sky, we are bound to be noticed by someone. I want to be a beacon in the darkness, and star in the sky.

So Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, deceived and poor
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world

Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, confused and torn
Hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

I think you get the point of this song, and why I am writing this post. Go tell people about Christ is the most important thing you can do for God. The time is running out for when Christ will return, and we not not the hour when He shall come. God the Father is the only One who knows when Christ will return to take back with Him those who are faithful, not even the Son of God knows -

Mark 13:32
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

We need to be on the watch and doing everything possible to win souls to Christ. Otherwise, they are going to hell. Hell is a scary place, where there is no rest from the torment that the devil and his demons will inflict on lost souls. They will be there for eternity and never escape from it.

Nothing makes Satan more happy than to see us humans in torment because he knows it torments and saddens our Maker. Have you ever wondered why Satan hates you so much and does everything possible to hurt you? Because you are made in the image of God, his sworn enemy.

Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

If there is some one you know who is not saved, I really think you should go over and talk to them. Our closest neighbour, who lives right down the road, doesn't know God. I keep praying that something will be brought up or I will be able to witness to him somehow. Pray for him to see the light before it is too late.

Prayerfully serving the Lord,
    Lady Rachel

Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Faith...

Faith is not a leap in the dark; it is a walk in the light. Unknown

Some people say we walk with our blindly after God, but that's alright. We have hand to catch us if we fall that will never let us hit the ground too hard.Jesus will always be by our sides to help us and will never leave us nor forsake us.

He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose. Jim Elliot

GTH - Chip In To Help Single Moms!

Her husband, Lee, is incarcerated. You can read her entire story here - Mrs. Lizzie Norris & James. But here is a little bit about the condition of today - "Today, Lizzie and James are home, trusting in the LORD to provide for them and keep them in Him. Lizzie provides for and home schools James and lives as a single mother, yet she is still wife to Lee."

Your support of any of these mothers would be an answer to prayers. Putting their icon and the GTH icon on your blog also would help others to see their needs. Posting and tweeting about GTH will also help to spread the news around. Every Dollar Is An Answer to Prayer.

"3 Is A Magic Number..."

“3 Is A Magic Number…”

We have a movie, a cartoon actually, called School-House Rock. It’s an old cartoon, and has lots of educational clips like mathematics, grammar, historical and just plain fun ones. There is one that is about the number 3. It tells how to count by threes and “how it takes three legs to make a tripod or make a table stand.”

Well, Isaac, who is the Einstein of the family, said “Three is a magic number, because Jesus rose in three days after dying on the cross.” Now, is that profound or what?! Coming from a five-year-old, it was amazing he would say something like that. But, yes, it is true.

Jesus, before His death, prophesied that He would rise again on the third day. Yes, it is true - Christ DID rise again on the third day by the power of God, for He was God in the flesh. After His death, angels appeared the women who went to the tomb to anoint Him. But they found something quite alarming - Jesus’ body was gone!

Matthew 28:5-7
5And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

Christ Jesus died so that we might obtain everlasting life through His death, as John 3:16 - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” He gave His life as the ransom for many so that we could live forever. This was the promised deliverance from sin.

As one of my favourite things to quote from the book Pilgrim’s Progress, “He has given me rest through His sorrow, and life by His death.“

By Christ Jesus sacrificing His life on the cross, He gave me the gift of everlasting life. He gives this gift to all who want to receive it. All you must do is accept His salvation that He offers to be cleansed of your sins to live a better life glorifying Him and not ourselves. Accept Him into your heart and let Him become the Lord of your life. You will find peace, rest, and an everlasting joy that cannot be found anywhere else. I pray that all who read this post will be encouraged in the Faith.

Love,
Saturday Psalm & Praise - Who is the LORD?

You can find in 1 Samuel chapters 2, that Hannah, the mother of the Prophet Samuel, truly sums up what the LORD really is. Just read on and you’ll find out how wonderfully in control HE is of EVERYTHING!

1 Samuel 2:2-10

2There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

3Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

4The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength.

5They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.

6The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.

7The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.

8He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’s, and he hath set the world upon them.

9He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

10The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.

The LORD is the one who raises up the leaders and kings. He lets them become who they are in power. He watches over those who love and honour HIM. HE keeps the feet of the Righteous from going astray. HE gives His shield to those who love HIM. No man, by his own strength, will prevail. All of the LORD’S adversaries will break before Him. HE is the Judge of the Earth. HE will judge you one day. HE gives Strength and Honour to those who follow Him. Are YOU one of those?

Love,
   Rachel
Introducing A New Series At ACOAH…

I am starting a new journal series at my other blog. Here is a little from my post -

Well, I have been writing a series of journal entries for a fictional character of mine. It’s been a work in progress for about six months now. I started it out as a story, but it ended up becoming the journal of a 14-year-old girl. I’ve got about seven of her entries done, and ready to be posted. It’s not that hard for me to write stuff like that because all I have to do is write about the life of my better character. Hehe. So, enjoy it, and let me know what you think of it.

Here is the post link -
Mopsy, My Darling Kitten

I am working on a post for the giveaway. Sorry it's this late! :)

Mopsy… My Darling Kitten

I don’t think I ever posted the pictures I was going to post of our kitty, Mopsy. We got her on August 12th, from the local feed store that had a kitten-mania with all their cats. She was quite hard to catch, that little kitten, when I got her from the feed store. She scratched meanly too. But who would’ve thought that naughty little kitty would look so sweet and so cuddly?

Well, she’s not very nice sometimes. She’ll run up and attack LucyLillie, and scratches when you pet her nicely. But she is learning. She is a snot when she runs to the basement door which leads to the garage when it is opened. She loves running around in our old basement, and up the stairs. Learning to be a nice, lovely little kitten-lady, is my Mopsy.

Recipe For Eggnog? Anyone Got Any?

I am in need of some help here. I am writing an article about Eggnog Day in December and I was wondering if any of you had any favourite eggnog recipes you wouldn’t mind sharing? We are publishing our December issue of Growing In Grace Magazine, and this article will go into it.

So, if you have any, please share! I’ll take nice ones, weird ones, old ones, or just the ones you like! If you have the recipe posted on your blog, you can just comment and give me the link. But if you would just like to leave the recipe in a comment, that would work too!

Thank you all!

Sincerely,
Becoming The Excellent Baker - Apples & Apple Dip

We use this recipe a lot whenever Dad brings home some big juicy apples. It's great if you are going to have a cookout, or having a get-together, or if just want to enjoy a little sweet, but healthy treat with your family. It takes hardly anything to make, and it so good, you'll want to make it again!

The Dippin' Dip

3/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 (8-ounce) package of cream cheese
1/4 cup of chopped nuts (walnuts work best in this)
about a tablespoon of vanilla

Now, if you have let the cream cheese sit out, you can do this with your hand, but if not, you can put it in the electric mixer and do it.

Put the cream cheese in a bowl, and start mashing it with the fork. Or if you are using a mixer, do it on low speed. Next pour the sugar in, one at a time, mixing it well before adding the next. Next you mix the vanilla in. That way it's a little bit softer. Now the last thing is to put the nuts in. Now mix all that up really good, making sure the sugars have not clumped anywhere. There's your apple dip.

I want to let you know something - if you are having a get-together and want this to be a part of the food, and you are making it ahead of time, do not cut the apples too. They will turn brown. It won't hurt if you do, but if you don't have to, make sure they are freshly cut.

Now, time to cut the apples. My favourite way to cut them is with a sharp knife. But if you do this, ask an adult to help you with this. If not, and you have an apple-corer on hand, use that. It will be quick to use it.

Once, you have done this, you are finished! Now, you can place the bowls of apples and apple dip on the table and set out some plates for people to come and get their own. Hope you enjoy this as much as we do. When we make, it doesn't last very long once you get the Littles started!

I hope you have enjoyed reading the thoughts and happenings of a fourteen-year-old girl from the country. “You can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens you!” Philippians 4:13
