Drug Store Deals

With the way our schedule had been, I hadn't been doing all my usual bargain/rebate shopping, but I need to start back up.

So I started last week, Walgreens will be easier once I have rebate money on my gift card again.

Here's what I got for a total of $8.43 for all 3 stores and after rebates.

Owen's Sausage Buy one @ 3.99 Get one Free ~ used two .35 coupons, tripled $1.05 each = $1.89 for 2

I bought my husband two 2 liters of Kroger soda 50 cents each.

I was going to buy avocados 3 for $1, but they were all super soft and gross.

So my total was $3.69 after taxes.

Well, David was in Iraq for 6 months and he is back now, while he was gone, I was unable to get into my account here and had to email for help. Then I was just too busy.

In May I got my Doula certification from ALACE!! So that was exciting. We are trying to build up our local birth group.

We started school back up on Aug 20th, then a few weeks later had a computer crash, and unfortunatley, I had not backed up many things.

We are working through the Prairie Primer this year, although I think this will be a 2 year project for us.

It has finally cooled off enough that the a/c keeps the house cool!! Yeah! We can play outside again too.

So hopefully now, I can keep up here.

TEACH winter issue

I just recently was able to sit down with the latest issue of TEACH. There is always something encouraging! This month, an article by Jayna Pettersen really spoke to me. It's called "Pruning to Produce an Abundant Harvest" on page 11. I don't want to give anything away, but right now in my family we really need to prioritize our lives.

I also needed to hear Lorrie's "Mid-Winter Burnout" habits. Somethings weren't anything I haven't heard before, but things I needed to hear (and do) again.

Freezer cooking last week

We did a new recipe Turkey (Chicken) Divan, just one to try. Then we did 2 8x8 pans and one 9x13 pan of King Ranch Chicken (make that Turkey!) casserole. That used up my turkey, I have everything to make Chicken Pierogies Alfredo, but it'll have to wait until I cook some chicken.

Then we did 4 meatloaves, frozen raw. 12 Hamburger patties, raw. Meatballs, my daughter helped, cooked, cooled, and frozen in bags. We made Cheeseburger Tatertot casserole meat mix, I froze these in bags and bought tater tots to keep in the freezer, We just thaw out the meat mixture put in pan and top with the tots and bake. The only other thing we made was Beef and Bean burritos (32 of them) We ate tacos with the extra meat that night.
