One more thing

I have decided to embrace my singleness for now. I think I might go through with kissing dating good-bye and really mean it. I'm so scared to do it, but I know it'd only be a good thing. Here comes wonderful and fulfilling friendships and maybe a real relationship with my future husband, not just a boyfriend!

Cheers!

What I'm up to

I just thought that I'd update everyone on what I have been doing lately. I've been spending the last week sick with a nasty cold that is finally going away. With that time that I had lying around in agony I had a lot of time to reflect on things.

I neglected to mention in my previous post that I have been diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder. For those of you who don't know what that is, basically I get really depressed when it becomes winter and I'm not in the sun as often. With my job it makes it even worse because I'm in a basement and I get the negative energy from the stressed out people who are about to take a test. But I'm doing something about it and I am now in the process of trying to get my insurance to pay for a sun lamp so that I can start doing light therapy! A light box is too trick my body into thinking that I'm getting sunlight and increasing my serotonin levels. Thus making me less depressed. Hopefully with this device I will be able to have a happier and more productive winter this year.

Also, we got Mario Kart for the Wii! I've been playing it almost non-stop since we got it a couple of days ago. The WFC is ultimate love. I can play people who are actually challenging and not the stupid computer.

Well, I better get going now. I'm actually thinking of writing some more of my story that I'm working on. It's been a long time since I've worked on it and I think it's time that I start doing it again.

P.S. Anyone who wants to know what I'm listening to, you now can! Head on over to my LastFM page to see both my rad and embarrassing tastes in music.

Letter of Notice from Company Management

Dress Code:
You are advised to come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we will assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a raise.

If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a raise.

If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need a raise.

Sick Days:
We will no longer accept a doctor's statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor; you are able to come to work.

Personal Days:
Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year. They are called Saturdays & Sundays.

Bereavement Leave:
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend the funeral arrangements. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary; the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.

Bathroom Breaks:
Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a strict three-minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the stall door will open, and a picture will be taken. After your second offense, your picture will be posted on the company bulletin board under the "Chronic Offenders" category. Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sectioned under the company's mental health policy.

Lunch Break:
Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more, so that they can look healthy.

Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure.

Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that's all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.

Thank you for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a positive employment experience. Therefore, all questions, comments, concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplations, consternation and input should be directed elsewhere.

Heat

Today was my riding lesson and it was a really good one. Donna, the lady who started the riding classes, got a new horse. His name is Heat (sp?) and he's a chestnut Arabian. Since Roxy was being used, Donna decided to let me try riding him. He was kind of jumpy since he isn't used to the ranch yet. So it took a while to tack up. Then when we got to the round pen, Donna rode him a bit to make sure that he was going to be ok. Once Heat calmed down a bit, I was able to ride him.

Heat is so different from Roxy and Nellie. He responded so well to the slightest pressure of my legs. I barely even had to use the reins. I even was able to try trotting with him. His trot is bouncy but it's fine when I post. I guess from now on I'm going to be riding him instead of Roxy.

When I got back I took a nice cold shower and then got started on cooking dinner. I made some homemade spaghetti sauce with the tomatoes from the garden. As I was cooking the noodles, the stove caught on fire. I covered it with a pot lid and it died out. Apparently someone had dropped some uncooked macaroni noodles under the burner and didn't take it out. I didn't even notice it. It was kind of scary but there wasn't any damage.

Well, I think I'm going to go start a load of laundry and then play some WoW before I have to go to bed.

Temper temper...

Oh dear, my sister is throwing a tantrum because I'm not playing the part of her personal secretary. She skipped out on school so that she could take a nap. Because I didn't wake her up in time for her art thing at 4, she's angry with me. Now, I was told that she was too tired to go to school, so I assumed it applied to her art thing too. It's not my fault that I wasn't informed. Besides, she's nearly an adult, she can wake up herself. I certainly had to when I was her age. Pff... and who takes a 5+ hour nap in the afternoon anyway?

New Layout

I was bored today so I decided to design a new layout for my blog. I was trying to think of something that would represent me. I looked around for free stock photos but I wasn't able to find any that I thought was me. I wanted something that I enjoyed and I figured I should probably make the graphics from scratch. Since I like computers, I figured I could do something with the old terminals. So the layout was born! It was tough since I haven't really done this kind of thing for a few years. But I figured it out.

Let me know what you think of it. Or if you find anything that isn't quite right or broken. I want to fix it as soon as possible.
