CONTEST!

Woohoo!

Hey guys! I am SOO sorry I haven't been giving you your daily dose of update. Anyways, starting today I'm going to try to keep on track of this. I may skip some days because of busyness, but for the most part I'll try and update everyday.

So today I have for you... A CONTEST! w00t! The last contest I had was a short story contest. And I'm sad to say, I got NOO entries for that. So this time, we're going to do something much simpler. I want you to write me a Limerick. It can be funny, serious, random, w/e. I'm going to pick out the one I like best. And the winner gets her blog featured on my blog, and I'll also make her a sign to put on her profile. Just send your entry to Blog_contest@hotmail.com. The deadline is Tuesday, December 25.... Christmas!

Have a nice day!

Holy Cow

Hey guys!

I am SOO sorry for not keeping you all updated. I know I promised you all a daily blog. I have been sooo busy lately, mostly with all that government stuff I was doing, and I just recently worked on a campaign last month. And on top of that I have 25+ hours of work every week, usually babysit 2-3 days a week now, I'm coaching both a cheerleading AND basketball team (through Upward basketball, if you've ever heard of that), and I have 2 youth groups I attend. So if you can't already tell, I've been completely booked for time. But I thank you all so much for your patience with me. And hopefully most of you still read my blog, haha.

I am trying to get a hold of my schedule better, and be able to organize my time better. I'm working on fitting blogging into my schedule too. I'm thinking 15 minutes on my blog every day, and maybe twice a week I'll spend more time on here reading everyone else's blogs and replying to all your comments, etc.

Tomorrow I'll be home all day (except in the evening), although I'll be working on getting my room cleaned most of the time. But hopefully I'll get a chance to log on and tweek my "Blog Schedule" around a little bit, and hopefully post a new blog.

As for cleaning my room, I know this sounds silly but would you all pray for me to get it done. This has been a constant struggle for me, and it's getting pretty ridiculous. I always SAY I'm going to clean my room, but being the natural procrastinator that I am, it never gets done. And my room has become so messy, that I don't even hang out in there anymore, that's how bad it is.

So anyways, thanks so much for reading this ridiculously long & boring post. I wish you all a great day!

Tagged

Hey guys! Thanks for our patience with me. Sooo sorry I haven't been updating lately. I've been working 8.5 hr shifts, and have been so busy. I actually have to leave in about 20 minutes for work, and don't have time to write a real entry, but I got tagged and I'll do that instead. I'm also leaving tomorrow to go to DC for about a week for some government conference thing w/ TeenPact. But I promise, when I get back I'll do a bit of rearranging of this blog's schedule (to fit my personal schedule), and get back to posting blogs. Thanks again for your patience!!!

Rules:

Players start with 8 random facts/habits about themselfs. People who are tagged write there own facts in and these rules.
Audience Question

"I thought in my heart, 'Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good.' But that also proved to be meaningless."
    - Ecclesiastes 2:1

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh wow guys, I am sooo far behind on this. I've been really busy. I'm sorry!!! So today is going to be the Audience Question. And by the way, I may alter the schedule a little sometime within the next couple of days.
Last week I asked...
" If one of your friends talked to you in the same way you often talk to yourself, would you still be friends with them? Explain."
I got a lot of really good feedback from you all, here were some of your responses...
"Maybe yes, maybe no. On one hand, I'd kinda like a friend that wouldn't beat around the bush with my faults. On the other hand, I wouldn't want someone insulting . . . but since I'm me, I can't insult myself anyway . . . am I making any sense?"
    - 1percentmilk
"That's a tough one. Like, I'd really want someone to be honest with me, but do I want them to be *that* honest? LOL. Actually, I think sometimes it's hard for us to see our own faults, so maybe it wouldn't be that different. I guess in the long run, even though there may be times when it hurt, I'd rather someone know me *that* well that they COULD see those things and be comfortable calling them out."
    - Earthling
"I know you won't believe this. ;-D But actually, I do talk to my closest friends just the way I talk in my head. We're always blurting out random, insane things and starting pointless conversations about them. Seriously, we can spend 30 minutes either debating the spelling of the word "encomium" or pondering Locke's philosophies and how they compare in the television show LOST. Really, when you're close to someone, you can discuss just about anything and they'll understand and accept it.
So uh, the short answer to your question? Yes, I would still be friends, because I tell them the crazy stuff in my head all the time!"
    - SugarCone
"....Second, to answer your question yes. I am a person that can be my harshest critic at the most craziest times but then I take those faults and reassess myself and try to make myself a better person. So I would absolutely be friends with someone that talked to me the way I talk to myself because that person could get me to realize true things about myself."
    - taytay
Next Week's Question:
Is it better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all? Why or why not?
Also, as an update about the contest. Because of my tardiness, you now have until Sunday the 14th to get those stories in. So two extra days, woohoo!
Interview Me
Hey guys I wanted to apologize for not updating yesterday, and being so late with the update today. I've been sooo busy. I was gone all day yesterday, and most of today. Anyways, here's my update.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
    -Matthew 5:14-16

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
INTERVIEW ME!
So basically, you guys get to ask me any question you want, and next week I'll go through all the questions and answer them. The questions can be about anything, funny or serious. They don't even have to be about me!
You guys can start asking...... NOW!
And thanks for all your comments!
Friday Five
" The king is enthralled by your beauty;  honor him, for he is your lord."
Psalm 45:11
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Friday Five

Okay, so for those of you who don't know what the friday five is. Basically every friday this website posts 5 questions, and people all over the world answer them. Neat eh? Feel free to answer them in a comment!

1. How long can you hold your breath? Not long at all, the longest I've done is like a minute and fifty seconds
2. How long do you wait to cut your hair? Haha, too long. I wait til I drastically have to
3. How long do you normally wait at the grocery? Like how long does it take me to shop?? That's my mom's department. Usually if I'm shopping at the grocery store it's for something specific and it only takes me like 5 minutes
4. How long can you sing a song without getting the lyrics wrong? Depends on the song. But if I don't know them, I usually make something else up so it sounds like I do =-p
5. How long is the best relationship you've been in? Uhh, like 2 months? But honestly that was a horrible relationship and I doubt it even counts.

Photo Hunt

“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.”
- Proverbs 24:1

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PHOTO HUNT!
So this is how the "Photo Hunt" works. Basically you guys tell me what you want me to take pics of, and I'll post them. But you've got to be creative. Don't just be like "Take a pic of yourself kicking a can," that's boring. Give me captions to do something too, or a quote, or a part from a movie.
Examples:
Dancing With The Stars
You're In Big Trouble Now
The Lion King
Basically anything that can give me some freedom. BE CREATIVE. Have me do whatever you want, but keep it appropriate. Next week I'll try to post as many as I can.
But since this is the first week, I obviously don't have any requests from you. So instead, I'll post a pic of my family.
So not the greatest pic. But it's the only one I have of my entire family. This was take of us maybe in February, although Jesse (the baby) was photoshopped in.
Back row (l to r): Andrew - 14, Dad, Mom holding baby Jesse, Me - 17, Josh - 19
Front row (l to r): Thomas - 12, John - 5, Seth - 4, Shannon - 7, Lizzy - 9, Jake - 10
Have a great day! I look forward to posting pics next week of whatever you want. Haha.
Audience Question
Hey Guys! This is my new blog. I still have my old Blog for more personal updates, and to be more like a journal. This blog is for more entertainment purposes, and drawing the readers attention. So this will have a lot of reader participation. Read the post below for a basic schedule.
Todays Verse:
"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity."
So today when you go out doing whatever you're doing, set a godly example in everything you do.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So today's theme is..... (get ready for it).... AUDIENCE QUESTION!

So every Wednesday I'll post a new question for you guys to answer. And then the following week I'll post a few of your answers.

Today's Question:
If one of your friends talked to you in the same way you often talk to yourself, would you still be friends with them? Explain.
