<title>ok so no schooling in a while</title>
<description>
I have been sick and what not.&amp;nbsp; I have
been sick a lot.&amp;nbsp; weird respitory stuff. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; So I try to
take it easy and nip it in the bud when it starts coming on because I
don't want to miss work.

So I have been reading.&amp;nbsp; And intend to read to my kids.&amp;nbsp; Come
on, i need to do that even if i am not homeschooling right. . . . SO
tonight we will pick up on the Silver Chair.&amp;nbsp; we stopped this
summer.&amp;nbsp; just lost steam . . .

Me?&amp;nbsp; Ihave been reading Charlotte Mason stuff.&amp;nbsp; I do love her
so . . . I have been convicted of my need to be a better
homemaker.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; how can my children grow and learn in this
chaos?

hence my purge of books.&amp;nbsp;

<title>to the Anonymous comment question</title>
<description>
we started with Kumon stuff.&amp;nbsp; thier letter workbooks
and have moved onto rhyming words.&amp;nbsp; These are such nice workbooks.
Y ou can get them at barnes nd Nobles but it lokos like Amazon has a
better selection.

At the same time we used Explode the Code Primers and now she is about half way through book one.

We also do&amp;nbsp; Starfall on the computer as well as thier print off sheets.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; You can order thier stuff for so cheap.&amp;nbsp;

It all works together really nicely.&amp;nbsp; For books she is reading Bob Books

it sounds like a lot but as you can see consistancy isn't my
strong point.&amp;nbsp; if we had been going mor consistantl;y she would
have been reading early fall.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Shame on me.&amp;nbsp;
Fortunatey she is pushy.

<title>Oh look how sad</title>
<description>
It has been a month since I did an entry.&amp;nbsp; i wish I could say we were diligently plugging away but we are not.&amp;nbsp;

Well with the exception of the last 4 dayas.&amp;nbsp; weh ave done
everything for 4 days in a row.&amp;nbsp; I have ben working so much
though.&amp;nbsp; I need to get some stuff up on e-bay.&amp;nbsp; I need to get
moving.&amp;nbsp; But my computer is doing something weird relating to
pictures. . .

Ok so,&amp;nbsp;
we have been dilengtly doing math, handwriting and spelling with
madeline.&amp;nbsp; She needs to practice piano desperately.&amp;nbsp; We
busted out her sewing maching the other day.&amp;nbsp; She was
stoked.&amp;nbsp; after Christmas i am goingot have her start a quilt.

Lily is reading!!!!&amp;nbsp; how exciting is that.&amp;nbsp; She has a long
way to go to even steady decoding but she is slowly growing.&amp;nbsp; She
is also kicking butt at math.&amp;nbsp; She is doing handwriting.&amp;nbsp; I
just don't care enough about handwriting.&amp;nbsp; her is atrocious as
well as her sisters.

Ava is sounding out words along with Lily.&amp;nbsp; I shoudl make more
effor to actualy include her.&amp;nbsp; She might pick up reading opretty
quickly this way.

I shall update more frequently. . . . i shall update mroe frequently . . . . I shall update more frequently . . . .

<title>another good week</title>
<description>
we did pretty good this week.&amp;nbsp; we are
taking today off because I went to bed feeling liek crap and woke up
feeling worse.&amp;nbsp; some weirdness in my shoulder which made it
impossible to move my arm, hands and shoulder.&amp;nbsp; It dissapeared as
mysteriously as it appeared.&amp;nbsp; My head and neck still hurt but I
think I must have slept funny on it.

So last week in school.

madleline did math every day and spelling most days. She knew her memory verse.&amp;nbsp;
Lilyka started new math.&amp;nbsp; the book is supposed ot last us 36
weeks. doubtful.&amp;nbsp; she did the first 4 weeks in 2 days.&amp;nbsp; this
is one slow program.&amp;nbsp; We have also been reviewing letters and
working on fine motor/writing skills.

Me?&amp;nbsp; I have discovered Charlotte Mason.&amp;nbsp; How have I never
looked into thi?.&amp;nbsp; it is so me.&amp;nbsp; I love her.&amp;nbsp; she is
brilliant.&amp;nbsp; and yet it is all such common sense.&amp;nbsp; I am really
excited about the direction our education, or rather our lives, are
taking.

blessings,
S.
