Suddenly Sarah heard a squeak. Sarah jumped back. "What was that?" Jen Heard Sarah. She ran to Sarah as fast as she could.
Lesson 9, Great Beginnings

Matching techniques
2,1,5,3,9,6,7,4,8
An unusual setting
Jonathan and Michael were walking along a lonely beach. Suddenly they heard a giant wave crash on the beach and the erie sound of a boat settling on the shore. Then far into the distance they saw the most spooky old boat they had ever seen. The sides of the boat had seaweed and barnicles on it.
Nathan had writers block so Bethany took over. Here is her story.
Bethany and James barried their toes deeper into the sand on the sun-soaked beach. Sighing deeply Bethany sipped her lemonade, while James adjusted his sunglasses. Both were clad in bathing suits, anxious to plunge into the frothy ocean waves. The beach was empty except for the two lover's and their matching beach towels. Or so they thought. As James was cleaning some lint off his cheap wal-mart glasses he looked lazily across the horizon. His eyes almost missed the lifeboat floating about 50 yards from the shore. The tide must have brought it here from the nearby marina. James poked Bethany. "Hey, look at that!" James gestured to the lifeboad and rose, dusting the sand off his swim trunks. The two jogged toward the boat, curriousity getting the best of them. Neither one was prepared for the sight their eyes were about to behold.

Lesson 10, Begin your story-- Lesson 11, Nutshells

This story takes place in a big forest with animals of small interests. Like Bob the duck. He is a sloppy duck and his one interest is making his house look just right. Which means a pile of clothes heaped on the floor. Dishes still in the sink. Books in a stack. ( Not a neat stack) Sterance the Bunnies interest is easy. Carrott, he just can't get enough carrots. He sometimes has a nasty temper that gets him into bad situations. Then there is me, Bertram the Bear. IT's hard to describe yourself but I'll do my best. I'm a stocky bear and my interest is most likely to have peace between all the animals of this forest, and tasty food.
I'm sorry to say but Sterance not only loves carrots but he sometimes steals them too. Bob the duck happens to have at least 100 carrots and Sterance doesn't think Bob has enough appreciation for his carrots. Sometimes, just sometimes Sterance steals Bob's carrots. Luckily Bob hasn't noticed that some of his carrots have gone missing...until today.

Sarah walked down the stairs. She was excited when she saw her breakfast. Bacon and ham, her favorite. Her mouth started to water. Then her brother James walked in the front door. It startled Sarah and she turned her head to look what was so loud. Sarah, come on your late for school. Oh no Sarah said, I forgot about school. Sarah jumped up, she grabbed her books and ran to the buggy. James got into the buggy too. When Sarah got to school the bell rang and she ran into the school.
