Well, first of all, my name is Haley. I'm married to the most wonderful man ever, Nathan. Together we have two beautiful children, a little boy, "A" and a little girl, "N". We are a cloth diapering, "green", crunchy sort of family. This is our blog to write about our daily activities and the things we're passionate about! Thanks for visiting!

Sugarloaf 2009

We spent this past weekend at Sugarloaf. My father in law let us use his condo for the weekend and we had a blast! Here are some pictures! Audric took ski lessons for the very first time. He didn't enjoy it when he was with his instructor, Jen, but loved learning with his Daddy and Grampa!

Bears

I knit these little bears up to put in Audric and Nouvelle's Easter baskets. Audric's is wearing a cape and a stocking cap and Nouvelle's has pigtails and I am going to knit it some little undies since Nouvelle is potty training. :) You can find the pattern for these bears here Henri the Knit Bear

I made up the pattern for the hat and cape, and modified it to add stripes, so if you know how to knit you can do that as well! It was such a quick and easy knit. It took me around 4 hours max to knit each one! :)

I also knit the kids a bunch of easter eggs to go in their baskets as well.. Here is one!
The easter egg pattern I made up myself. It goes as follows:
CO 18 sts onto size 3 DPN's
Knit 17 rows
Row 18: (K1 K2tog) to end - 12 sts left
Row 19, 20, 21 - Knit all
Row 22 - (K2tog) to end - 6 sts left
Stuff the egg and then sew the bottom closed

I used 100% wool for all of these projects! I hope you enjoyed looking at them!

Crafty!

I dyed this wool the other day for a custom trade. It's beautiful and I am in love with it!!

When I was at my aunt's this past weekend we both got inspired to knit these ADORABLE mini longies! I wanted to "spice" mine up a bit so I added an attached skirty and some ruffles. I'm in love! This is now my favorite part of my keychain ring!

I also knit this stocking cap for my little lovey boy. :) (don't mind the tag, it's from my project365 on livejournal!)

Thanksgiving and the first snow..

Yesterday, the 29th, we went for a visit to "Bapa's" house. The kids love visiting Bapa because they always have so much fun, visiting with him, playing toys and seeing the dogs and horses. We went for Thanksgiving and had a lovely time chatting, eating good food and enjoying each others company. A took a liking to their "Hungry, Hungry Hippos" game and then got N in on the fun. They really had a great time! They also played a computer game with Bapa as well.

Tonight we got our first snowfall! There has been snowfall here in Maine, but we have yet to see any in our area. But tonight, it's coming down! I thought my husband was joking when he told me, but when I saw it with my own eyes, I ran and grabbed my camera! I love the snow!

Here is A playing with a pair of work goggles. He looks so silly & cute!

Here is A and N enjoying a "Bob the Builder" game on the computer with Bapa.
A sitting under the table playing. (I used the color selection setting on my camera, that's why it's only picking up orange in this photograph.)

N playing under the table.
Here is a picture of our first snowfall! This is our driveway.

And the snow coming down from the sky. God blesses us with such beautiful moments!

And on a different note, I am currently on vacation from my store, Homegrown Beans, but will be returning with a bunch of knit and sewn goods in February 2009! I am very excited to stock the store, but I am currently focusing on knitting sewing gifts for Christmas, to be as frugal as possible! I also opened up a blog for keeping my buyers updated on what to look forward to and different custom things that will be available. You can visit the blog here; Homegrown Bean's Online Blog.

I hope to update again soon, with pictures of A's 3rd birthday party!

Strawberry picking

Before I write I just want to say *Happy Birthday, ABBIE!* I hope you have a lovely day down there in Costa Rica! I miss you!

This past weekend and the weekend before (July 4th weekend..those pictures coming later!) we went strawberry picking with my aunt and her children. We had a BLAST both times! The second time we were at a field that had MASSIVE strawberries! The kids had a ton of fun running down the rows in the fields, playing and eating berries. After picking the berries we headed home and made loads of strawberry jam! I have enough fresh jam to last us until next strawberry season! I made 18 jars total! YUMMY!
Anyway.. I have a few pictures as well!

Here is my little "N".. She fell asleep on the couch before we left for strawberry picking..

And his this is "A" at the field.. He was wearing his bell from the 4th of July that he "accidentally" took from Griffin..

And here is my sweet hubby picking berries.. He was so into it!

And here's "N" eating some berries. She had more fun just sitting eating berries than anything!

And this is my little cousin, "L".. She had a ton of fun, too!

The kids got sick of picking berries, so they played in a pile of dirt. This is my "A" playing with his best buddy "Ev" and his older brother.

And here is a berry I took of pic of with my "Macro" shot! It's so beautiful!

"A" running around.. With "Ev" in the background!

When we got home.. Daddy got my little GIRL "N" dressed.. She looks like her big brother here though! I think she looks so cute in a jersey!

And here is a pic of some of my jam! I love homemade jam!

And macro.. HAD to!

Here are a couple pics from just some days at home..

Here's "N" doing what she calls "swimming" in the pool. She likes to lay on her belly in the water!

And the kids both like to "sling" their babies with their playsilks..

"N" slinging her baby

And "A" slinging "baby Elmo"

And here's just a few pics from our last strawberry picking day

I sat in the backseat with the kids because my mom came with us.

Here's me and my sweet "A"

Here's "N" kissing at the camera

I found a heart shaped strawberry! Isn't it cute!?

And "A" 's first kite flying adventure! He loved it!
