Socialism

*EDIT*
Please note that I will respond to your comments on this topic by posting comments on this blog. If you don't hear from after you leave a comment, it's because my response is here (and if it's not here it's because I'm lazy lol) It just seems more logical to keep the conversation in one place.

So tomorrow officially marks the start of a new school semester for me. I've been doing some of my subjects for almost a week now, but tutorials begin tomorrow and that's when I'll start everything. I love the homeschool co-op thing (I say thing because it's actually classified as a private Christian school) we're with. It allows me to play sports, take classes, and have friends. Well, more friends anyway. Which brings me to my topic this entry--no, it has nothing to do with socialist government, that was just a clever title. I know not everyone on this site has the advantage of a co-op... Thing. So how do you socialize and make friends?

Do you consider yourself to be social and able to function well around others? Do you think being homeschooled has helped or hurt you in this area of life? Are there times when you've wished you weren't homeschooled?

I'm not asking this question so that I have an answer to give someone who objects to homeschooling--though if the answers I get are good, by all means, I will use them. Their is a belief among some that those who learn in their homes are backward and shy, but this post isn't about convincing them, you, or me that this thought is wrong or right. I'm simply starting a conversation. I DO expect a response. Seriously, someone pick up on this. I mean it.

Peace out my hippy friends!

Oh, Yet Again...

Yes, I'm writing another entry. I seem to blog, then stop blogging, then come back and blog again. It's a vicious cycle haha. The reasons for the inconsistency of my posts--or the consistency of my breaks (depending on how you look at life)--is that I get tired of blogging. Just burned out on not having anything to write about, or not writing when I do have something intersting to say. This too is a vicious cycle haha. However, for all my lack of posting in the past months, I enjoy writing.

That's one reason I'm back (again). Another is that I want to be a better writer, and nothing makes a writer better like writing (interesting concept, don't you think?). So maybe my entries will have a little more substance to them from now on.

Now that I've covered explanations and such, I'm going to eat lunch. Oh, and by reading this, you are legally bound to comment me and tell me how overjoyed you are that I have once again illuminated the dark cave that is my weblog, exposing the wonders of moss, bats, undeground streams, and eyeless fish existing within.

Our President....

Watch this and tell me what you guys think, I won't state my opinion about what Mr. Obama said until later (I plan to write an uncharacteristicly long entry on this), but I really want your input.

                                                                              theimmortals

this is a new entry...

Hello my friends, today I thought I'd post, mostly cuz I'm tired of the previous post. So anyway, baseball has started full swing, and our team finally won for real last night! It was so funny, I was at Wendy's with some of my teammates after the game, and our starting pitcher said jokingly, "My arm hurts bad, I might die!"
I laughed and said, "That's not good."
"At least I'll die a winner!" he replied. It was funny, but you probably would have to have lost a lot to really appreciate it... We've lost a lot lol.

In other news, my little bro's birthday was Saturday, he is now 12! it was kinda different, because he had his party in February to prevent conflict with baseball. I probably shouldn't say this, but I'd forgotten it was his b-day when I first got up... He didn't let me forget for long though lol.

All right, I'm all done, I'd write longer, but that'd be breaking the short post trend I'm trying to get started lol.

Peace

To Prevent Further Confusion

In my last entry I used lyrics from a song by Relient K called "Maybe It's Maybeline". Because the song is somewhat obscure (project playlist doesn't even have it), and I was asked if I knew that Maybeline was make-up, I"m going to post the lyrics to prevent further confusion, the song has a great message.

People make mistakes.
We find that everything breaks.
And it always is the same: gotta find someone to blame.
And these errors that we make
('cause we're all human earthquakes.)
Yeah, we made the hurricane,
yet we're not the ones to blame?
We point the finger even though its not polite.
We condemn the son of God
(we're hoping two wrongs make a right).
Maybe it is them.
Or, maybe it is me.
Or, maybe its Maybeline.
People make mistakes.
We took the apple from the snake.
And it always is the same: gotta find someone to blame.
Our reputations were at stake,
but the guilt we could not take.
America's gone down the drain.
The president's at fault again?
We point the finger even though it's not polite.
We condemn the son of God
(we're hoping two wrongs make a right).
The truth is, excuses are lame.
Accept consequence.
Accept the blame.
We're all sinners.
We're all unclean.
Maybe we're born with it.
Or maybe its Maybeline

I guess I got to post again eventually...

It feels so great outside! My bro and I were at grandparent's all afternoon playing basketball (I'm a BEAST!) and drinking Pepsi. It's been a while since I posted, I don't l know why I took so long, maybe it is them, maybe it is me, or maybe it's maybeline, yeah, maybe it's maybeline!
Sorry, we're listening to Relient K (SHOCKING!) and that song rocks! Anyway, I posted a long entry last time, so this one will be shorter. It could say "the end" at any time. But should I end this post with a question? What have you been doing lately (rk references)? It still could say "the end" at any time... But it won't.... Fin

I was gonna post about how annoying it is that EVERYONE has left HSB, but then I decided to be happy, not angry, so here's some Chuck Norris Jokes!

Chuck Norris was born in a log cabin that he built with his bare hands.
When Chuck Norris jumps in a pool, he doesn't get wet, the pool gets Chuck Norris.
You win some, you lose some. Chuck Norris wins all.

OK, enough of that, he not that great, haha. So, I had my basketball end of the year banquet last night. Our school had tons of people there--girls middle school, guys middle school, JV, and Varsity, girls Varsity, and the cheerleaders.

Now I know your saying to yourself, "wait a minute, he's not homeschooled?!! IMPOSTER!!" Now before you go jumping to conclusions, let me make one thing clear: You really shouldn't be talking to yourself, people will think your crazy! Oh, and I am homeschooled, but where I live in Area 51 the state requires you to be signed with like a co-op thing, and ours offers one-day-a-week tutorials, sports, field trips, ect., it's very cool.

Anyway, back to the B-ball thing. There was lots of food, people, and SPEECHES! With all those teams, and all those different coaches, and volunteers, and our principal--we were there for a while to put it short. Anyway, it was fun.

Our first baseball game is Monday! Basketball just got over, and we've only had like 5 practices, but the season's starting whether we like it or not--don't get me wrong though, I'm excited, it's gonna be a lot of fun.
OK, that's enough. Later.
