let's do some research on homeschooling to properly introduce our family to the world we are about to embark upon :) http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewestbrooks/ en-us Homeschool Blogger Sat, 29 Dec 2007 19:35:00 -0600 Sat, 29 Dec 2007 19:35:00 -0600 sometimes when the car blows up, the electricity goes out, business comes to a halt, ice covers the roads, and calls are not returned... you realize you can't always get what you what.... the path does not seem clear nor worth taking however care is being taken love is being distributed and education is prevalent. what more can you need http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewestbrooks/452178/ Sat, 29 Dec 2007 19:35:00 -0600 http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewestbrooks/452178/ we have 2 days of music presenting an alternative to radio music and mainstream tunes.  we have been putting together these shows for over a year now and i still get a bit nervous before them.  maybe it takes a few more years to gain complete confidence.  rest assured the events are always fun.  it just makes for a bigger event when more people are able to show.  and better financial presence of course. my husband and i have been trying to keep our first retail/youthmusic centered business alive for 2 and a half years!  boy is it tough.  but we have not given up.  most will say that it takes five years to be fully known.  we just hope we can make it until then.   we seem to have trouble with funding.  we don't have any...ha ha.  i think we should start focusing on sponsors and endorsements...might be a good move.  the other main issue is that our building is not holding up.  we are in the downtown district which has somewhat been neglected as a whole.  as a result, parts of our roof is in POOR condition.  we will continue to move forward with much discussion.  if anyone has any thoughts, please share.  happy labor day to you all.  may there be a good showing for the show! http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewestbrooks/384521/ Mon, 3 Sep 2007 16:04:00 -0500 http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewestbrooks/384521/ hello.  my name is traci and i tend to write without using caps.  so just get used to it.  that is just how it is. : )  i am a sucker for nutritional healing,  good conversation, eating habits, and the art of "doing." i have a wonderful husband who has insisted that homeschooling be part of our plans for the last 4 years.  just recently have i stopped being so reluctant to the idea.  i have been doing as much research as i have the time and it seems i am entering a whole world.  a world that i think is going to take the next year to properly be admitted into. we have a four year daughter and a two year old son.  we are mainly interested in raising healthy, creative, motivated, and smart kids.  we believe homeschooling is going to a great avenue for us to teach our kids the interesting concepts in this life and introduce them to motivating individuals who will continue to push our children and our family in a forward direction. we believe that the present day school system is a bit limiting in what one is allowed to accomplish.  we believe if you someone an opportunity to really discover their true course in this life, that they will accomplish much more than if you are devising the plan for them.  we as parents are here to help guide our children onto a faithful & true path.  we are confident that we can do this through homeschooling.  i would be interested to get to know a few of you who are passionate about learning and about life and the creativity that can be tapped into each and every day.  i am interested in conversing with those of you who are confident yet humble and those of you who also have the ability to be a teacher as well as the student. love to hear from you.... traci http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewestbrooks/383582/ Sat, 1 Sep 2007 13:09:00 -0500 http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewestbrooks/383582/
