I know it has been a while.  I have enjoyed a short summer break.  (We started school in July.)  I have been a very busy bee!  Here is what I have been doing and what some of my plans are:   1.  I have gotten back into my CRAZY couponing.  Yes, I do coupons... but I don't just do a coupon here or there.  I save BIG and have hundreds of coupons.  So, I want to be able to share some tips and progress with you.  I will be starting a money saving section on my Homeschool TV blog.  If you want to see my tips and trick, and keep up with my savings you need to join the mailing list.   2.  I have been Facebooking.  I have figured out that it is easier to keep my friends and family updated on Facebook than it is here on Homeschool blogger.  I will not be maintaining our family site here anymore.  (So this is an official farewell to this blog.)  I will still keep my homeschooling blog, but I am going to combine my Considering Courtship blog to the homeschooling blog too.  I think condensing all this down will save me tons of time!   3.  School has already been going for 3 weeks for us.  It has went well... a few snags, but nothing we couldn't adjust to.  If you want to keep up with us... again... join the mailing list at Homeschool TV.   4.  I still plan on writing more in The Castle and the King but I really have not been in the mood to add more to it.  I am not going to force it.  So just keep your eyes open.   I hope you all have a great school year.  Please stop by and say hello! http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewoons/715498/ Sat, 8 Aug 2009 12:33:00 -0500 http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewoons/715498/ I have some exciting news for everyone.  A little over a week ago, my cousin and her fiance came to do a Bible study with my hubby and me.  I told her I was concerned that she had misunderstood the Gospel and just wanted to make sure she was ready.  After the Bible study, she got saved!  Woohoo!   Since then, there are people asking us to do the same Bible study just to make sure they understand and to make sure they are sharing the Gospel properly.  We have a couple coming tonight, actually.   Anyone local want to schedule with us?  Don't hesitate to ask... http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewoons/699531/ Tue, 16 Jun 2009 06:54:00 -0500 http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewoons/699531/ Little man just got his first summer hair cut.  He looks so different!   http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewoons/695078/ Tue, 2 Jun 2009 09:37:00 -0500 http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewoons/695078/ I have had a lovely day.   I was just thinking of my Daddy.  I miss him.    He lives a few hours away, but I cannot travel to go see him right now.  So I am sending him cyber hugs and kisses.   Also, the kids and I have been busily planting flowers and shrubs in the flower bed.  Want to see?   I planted the two ornamental grasses (Blue Lilly Turf) and the "banana" plant in the front of this pic on Saturday.   Here is what we call the banana plant (Asiatic Pot Lilly).     Then we planted the shrub on the corner and 5 more Blue Lilly Turfs on the front.  The trellises have to be painted white.  We are going to plant something that climbs (like roses???)  We haven't decided yet.  My dad liked to grow roses when I was growing up.  I remember one year when he didn't have enough money to buy me what I wanted for my birthday.  He cut all his roses and put them in a vase and gave them to me.  That was the best birthday present ever!  That meant more to me than any gift bought in a store.  So my vote is for roses.     I love this shrub.  It smells so good!     Two more Hawthorne shrubs on the side and a foxglove.  The kids picked out verbenas for the side.       I am going to talk to hubby about running the river rock all up the side bed.  Then it is time to plant some grass!  I am sick of all the mud!!!  http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewoons/690246/ Mon, 18 May 2009 16:30:00 -0500 http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/thewoons/690246/ Wow!  What a great family night!  Dad was a little late getting home Friday, so we got a late start, but we had a blast.  First, we built a huge fort in the living room with chairs and blankets.  Then we all 5 crawled in the fort and played Uno.  We even let the toddler play Uno.  The rule was, whatever he put down, the rest of us had to follow.  So even if it was yellow and he put down red, we had to then play red.  I worked with him some on colors, so he really enjoyed trying to put the right thing. We were all dressed in our laze-around-the-house clothes.  We all piled in the van and went to the store to get junk food and a family friendly movie.  We came back, ate junk and relaxed while watching the movie. It was wonderful. The kids have been so good during the services.  We do not use a nursery at church.  We like to have our kids with us in the services. The big boy is learning "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" on guitar.  He is doing wonderful!!!!  We will do another recital for you soon. I woke up to homemade cards and a present.  Then I went to church for a Mother's Day breakfast.  Yummy!  Then we had church service.  There were 2 people there that made it really special.  There was an elderly man who has not been able to come to church in years because of physical problems.  It must have been exhausting for him, but he made it there... oxygen tank and all.  He is a very sweet person.  Also, the husband of one of our members was there.  He hasn't been to that church since I started attending... that has been 9 years.  I don't know how long it had been before that.  And to top it all off, one young man (20's?) got saved!  The message the pastor preached this morning was straight from the Lord.
