I'm not a Cyclops - Homeschool Blogger

You may be a little confuse by the name of my blog. But I named it that because, well you may have notices that the address is "theworldthroughmyeye". Thats because there is a limit of how many characters you can use for the address. So I thought I go with it and just make sure you didn't think I only had one eye. Cause that's crazy. But no I have three eyes just like everyone else.

It did, it really did!

It snowed on Sunday! Yup, that's right! It started during Sunday school, when all of a sudden someone gasped and everybody looked out the window. And there it was, beautiful fluffy, white dust falling from the sky. It was amazing, and Megan couldn't get anyone to pay attention. Then it snowed some more on Monday, and then the worst thing ever happened. IT RAINED! I was so devastated! But it was fun while it lasted. Sorry I didn't say much, probably 'cause I have nothing to say! Have an amazing Christmas break!!!! ~Katie~

What's up with my computer?

So I don't know know if you've noticed, but my computer has started to do that thing when I type everything out really neatly, and then it all smooshes together, so that it's hard to read and actually understand what Im tryin' tuh'say. So Im going back to the thing when I put "~" in between subjects, so things do get too confusing.~Im super duper stoked for the Winter Wonder Slam Concert tomarrow! And then on Sunday we're going over to someones house for a potluck, and I think I might end up making a Banana Cream Pie, but my mum didn't seem too thrilled about that.~Alrighty, so I went to the library a couple days ago and got the America's Test Kitchen (It the Family Cook Book one) cook book. It's this massive red binder filled with tons of great recipes with lots of clear instructions and how-to pictures. It is also loaded with helpful tips and time savers. So I would totally recommend this book to anyone who just wants a better version of a classic, or some easy versions of some fancier dishes. This is the kind of book that you buy, and keep forever.~ Keep your eyes peeled for the new Air Bud movie! I must admit that I am not really a big fan of live action movies with talking animals, but this one was filmed in Fort Langley, which is were I used to live, and my Aunts house is also in the movie. But this probably won't be very special for you because it really isn't that special at all. But I just sort of thought of it and wanted tell you guys about.~I started up a new writting program a couple weeks ago so you guys can look for ward to me, maybe, putting up some of my work. Only if I write a really good and interesting one!~~I hope all of you are have a super duper week, and that your christmas shopping is going well, Haha, my mom just started today.~~Don't forget to comment, add me as your friend, and PM me your prayer requests!~ Thanks for reading.....~Katie

A Potetnially Brown Christmas

So I know a lot of places have snow already, and if your town is like that, Im extremely jealous. You see it usually snows in November, but here we are, December 7th, and still nothing. Which is usually okay, because snow makes the rodes super dangerous. But it's been so stink'n long since I've seen the stuff, that Im sort of start'n to miss it! So that is the reason for the slightly strange title.
So how are all of you guys doin? How's your Christmas shopping doing? Mine isn't goin so well, if I can even say that. I haven't started yet. I don't even know who Im buying for. mine family does the whole Secret Santa thingy.
Im not so nervous about the person I pick this year, because my sister already chose her person, and the person she chose is the hardest to buy for. So with that out of the way, shopping this year should be a breeze. I won't lose any sleep over it, I hope any ways.
So I hope all of you are having an amazing week. If any of you have anything you would like me to pray about, please PM me, because I would love to pray for whatever you need/want me to.
Don't forget to comment and add me as your friend!

Winter Wonder Slam

Hey Guys So you know how I said I don't feel christmasy until really late? Well this year, for some reason it changed, I feel christmasy already! So Im super duper excited because the Winter Wonder Slam tour is coming to Abby. I hadn't really heard of it before my youth pastor invited me to come, but Im super duper excited. There are 4 acts, there's Toby Mac, Relient K, Stephanie Smith and B. Breith. I don't know much about the last two. Im mostly just into Relient K, and Toby Mac is okay, not a huge fan though. But I was surprised the Abbotsford is the only Canadian stop in the whole tour! Why would they choose Abbotsford anyways? I bet no one knows where that is. Not that it's a super small town, it's just nothing amazing. I hope all of you guys had a really great weekend, and I hope you guys will have a super duper week! Don't forget to comment and add me as a friend! ~Katie~

Pizza Roll Ups

Okay guys, Pizza Roll Ups are the most amazing thing you can possibly make with pizza toppings that isn't pizza. My mom used to make them all the time, but after she had a couple more kids she didn't have time. So yesterday I decided to make them, because after a long summer without baking, I felt like I needed to catch up. So I thought I'd give you guys the recipe.

Dough:

2 1/2cups of flour
1 tbs of quick rise yeast
1/2 tsp of salt

1 cup of water
1/4 cup of vegitable oil

set aside 1 cup of the flour and then mix the rest with the yeast and salt, set aside.
In the microwave, heat the water and oil just until hot to the touch (about 1 minute).
Pour the hot oil and water in to the dry ingredients and stir. Once that is all mixed, add add just enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and kneed for 5 minutes or until smooth.
Let the dough rest in a warm place for 20 minutes.

Sauce:
1 small can of tomato paste
2 tbs of water
1/2 tsp of basil
1/4 tsp of garlic powder
1/2 tsp of sugar

mix all of the sauce ingredients together until smooth, you may need to add a little more water.

cut the dough into 2 even balls, and roll one out into a foot long rectangle. Spread half of the sauce over and a ton of mozzarella cheese. be sure to leave 2 inches at the top of the dough. Roll up the dough and cut it into 12 even slices. Do the same with the second dough. place in a pan with corn meal at the botton, and bake at 350 F for 30 minutes.

Life

HEY GUYS!
WHAT'S UP? I HOPE ALL OF YOU ARE HAVING AN AMAZING WEEK, AND DOGGING THE FLU. MY DOGGING SKILLS ARE VERY LACKING, WHICH RESULTED IN ME GETTING THE FLU. JUST THE REGULAR FLU NOT H1N1, THANK GOODNESS.
YOU MAY BE WONDERING WHY IM WRITING IN ALL CAPS... WELL I'VE GOTTEN SO STINK'N LAZY THAT I DON'T EVEN WANT TO HAVE TO BOTHER WITH THE SPACE BAR. DON'T JUDGE ME, IM SICK!
SO FOR SOME REASON I'VE PICKED UP CROCHETING. I LOVE IT, BUT MY ONLY PROBLEM WITH IT IS THAT YOU USE UP YARN JUST AS FAST AS MY DOG CAN EAT A CAN O' TUNA. SO THIS PROBLEM CAN BE SOLVED ONLY TWO WAYS: EITHER I GO YARN SHOPPING WITH THE MONEY I DON'T HAVE, OR QUIT CROCHETING. THAT LAST ONE IS JUST MY LAZYNESS COMING OUT AGAIN.
MY MOM HAS BEEN TELLING ME FOR THAT LAST LITTLE WHILE THAT I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO TYPE PROPERLY. BECAUSE FOR THAT LAST LITTLE WHILE I'VE DEVELOPED A STRANGE SORT OF TYPING HABBIT. I DON'T MIND IT, BUT APPARENTLY I TAP REALLY HARD ON THE KEYS, WHICH IS ANNOYING TO CERTAIN PEOPLE IN MY HOUSE.
YOU KNOW WHAT'S KIND OF WEIRD? EVERYONE AROUND ME IS TELLING ME HOW CHRISTMAS COMES SOONER EVERY YEAR, BUT TO ME IT SEEMS LIKE THE COMPLETE OPPASITE. TO ME IT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE CHRISTMAS UNTIL I WAKE UP AT 6;00 (OR SOME TIMES A LITTLE EARLIER), AND WE TURN ON THE TREE LIGHTS, AND WAKE EVERYONE UP, AND DO THE LAST DEVOTIONAL. THEN WHEN WE'RE DONE OPENING PRESENTS AND WE'RE ALL SITTING AROUND THE LIVE'N ROOM, CHECK'N OUT OUR COOL STUFF, THEN AND ONLY THEN, DOES IT START FEELING LIKE CHRISTMAS! AND IM NOT SAYING THAT ALL I LIKE ABOUT IT IS THE PRESENTS, IT'S JUST THAT IS THE FEELING THAT I PUT TOGETHER WITH CHRISTMAS. AND THEN OF COURSE AFTER THAT, WE GO TO OUR COUSINS HOUSE FOR SOME AMAZING FOOD AND A LONG AWAITED VISIT.
SO I REALLY HOPE I GET MY CHRISTMASY FEELING A LITTLE BIT EARLIER THIS YEAR.

I HOPE YOU ALL ARE ENJOYING THE MISERABLE FALL LIKE WEATHER, I WISH I COULD.

Im really excited for tomarow, because Mady might be coming over, and then we might be going over to Vallue Village and buying some supper cool old stuff. And then after, head over to the college City Wide ( A big group of youth groups from all over the city) . So that should be fun. My mom is working tomarow so she doesn't really mind what Im doing tomarow! But even if Mady and I don't hang out... Im still going to City wide. So tomarrow should be a fun day!

Fall

Hey you guys.I haven't blogged in a while, and for that I am very sorry. So today is Halloween, and really, that means nothing to me. My family does nothing for Halloween, we don't even hand out candy! But what we usually do is buy candy the day after, because it's really cheep then. My favortire part of any of these kinds of holidays is the pilsbery sugar cookies. Well maybe not my favorite, but one of them anyways. Oh and I think that this year we are also going to carve pumpkins. Well my sister is staring me down, and trying to get me off of the computer. So I will talk to you all really soon! ~Katie~

Weekend

So you may have noticed that I haven't been blogging half as much as I used to! The reason for that is because my mom changed the password for the computer, and I only get to use my sister's computer on weekends. So I can only go on every once in a while.
So this week I read the boo An Echoe in the Darkness, which is the second book in the Mark of the Lion series. I have to say that I liked the second way better than the first, partly just because Atretes wasn't in it. But when I finished the book I moved on to the third, and discovered that the whole book was about him! So there is a small chance of me getting through the entire book. But the first and second books are amazing! So everyone should read them!
I've decided that I don't like fall! It's wet and cold and.....Ick! I don't like it. Also you have to wear sweaters where ever you go! And that bugs me, don't ask why, it would take way too long to explain!
Oh, and I should mention that the band that I was in this week went really well! Thank you everyone who prayed for me, I felt really relaxed and I had a lot of fun! Im going to be singing in the youth band again next month, so Im pretty excited for that! I've been trying to convince Mady (madeline) to join that band too, but she won't! But maybe she will later!
I should probably go, because my sister just handed me a huge slice of juicey water melon, or water lemon as she calls it!
I'll talk to you guys later! Don't forget to comment!
