RubberWood School

Why we do what we do.

We are coming on our second year of homeschooling. It has been a joy. I have learned so much about God, my children and myself. Mostly that "school" is happening all the time, not just in your formal lessons. I learned very little in school. The short time my daughter was in preschool caused us to be so very distant.  The teacher is the main source of knowledge and trust, I shouldn't give that responsibility to someone I know nothing about and hope for the best. When I teach my children, I begin to know them.  God is willing to help me, even when my needs seem trivial in comparison to world hunger. I am NOTHING before my prayer time and coffee in the morning.  All things are possible with God, all things are nothing with out Him.  Children are persons and should be treated as such. I love my family and the call the Lord has put on our lives. I cant wait to see what he will do with us!

How true - especially the part about trusting someone we don't even know to impart widsom, knowledge and more to our children. Can you imagine asking someone you know almost nothing about to take care of a priceless family heirloom? Of course we wouldn't do that - yet our children have so much more value, and so many never give it a second thought.

Have a blessed weekend!
