In the Kitchen

We have been able to use the Red Palm Oil some.  I made biscuits for Strawberry Shortcake, they were great, but orange.  I knew it would change the color of our food, but what I didn't expect was staining my dish cloths.

It does have a slight aroma and taste, but so does olive oil.

The health properties of this oil are remarkable;

Boosts Immune system

Fights cancer

No Cholesterol ~ raises HDL (good) lowers LDL

Dissolves arterial plaque

Prevents and fights Free Radicals

Trims Body Fat

Reduces risk of diabetes

Safe for cooking and baking ~ all oils, except Coconut oil and Palm, become dangerous once heated

Today we are going to make a double batch of granola bars, some bread, and a cheesecake to freeze in slices for David to take in his lunches.

I also want to work this week on coming up with a standard grocery list to check things off that we need.  I think I will try to modify an already made one.  I also would like to come up with a 2 week menu and grocery list of my own to keep in my home journal for weeks where I can't plan or maybe can't go to the store, that would have been nice the week Matthew was in the hospital.
