• Apr. 3, 2006 - Elementary My Dear Mother

Boy 1 just loves to dress up and pretend to be somebody else. He has a pirate costume, a cowboy costume and a medieval costume that makes him look more like Romeo than a knight.

Today found Boy 1 feeling like a bit of detective work, so he set out to make his office and become, "Tracy Bullet, Private Eye."

While our hero was in the midst of a stake out, Dear Man came home earlier than expected from work. I called out to Mr. Bullet, "I have a case for you! Find out why your father is home so early!"

"That's easy!" replied Tracy Bullet with an air of superiority. "He came home because he missed us. Case closed!"

Isn't it wonderful that some boys these days have an imagination. My ds is a cowboy trying to make his own way in the hard life of the 1800's. Someday is he Pa, other days he is just some cowpoke bachin' it in the west, and my favorite-when he is Jedidiah Smith opening up the West for pioneers! Time will come soon enough when these boys have to carry a load far greater than we will ever know-so when there is still time-LET THEM BE BOYS!!!
