There has been a time or two, while sitting on the Front Porch swing, that I have pondered the meaning of geography. To lazy to get up and look it up, I have gone about with a laymens definition. Today though, while I was comfortably swinging to the rhythm of the dog snoring beneath me, Maggie Hogan plunked herself down beside me and read my mind. Here for all to know is the definition of geography, as well as some super geography links.
How many young girls have sat on porch swings and dreamed of the day when a freshly scrubbed boy would ask her hand in marriage? Probably only those with porch swings. You can't dream about that ideal proposal without also dreaming about the diamond ring to be presented. Would it be big? Would it cost him his life savings? Would it be real? Dawne Shelton explains how you can use the trivium to learn about anything, including diamonds.
Porch swings are made for more than one person but sometimes in life it's nice to be the only one sitting on it. Donna Conner tells us that the word "only" isn't necassarily a bad thing. Homeschooling only one child doesn't have to be hard or a lonely experience.
Hey, look at that! A sagerat just ran across the Front Porch! Cheeky thing!
I think I'll just stay out here on the swing for awhile. Anyone care to join me? |
