Have you ever seen that commercial where a family gets the car and camper all loaded up to go camping, and the dad backs out of the driveway, across the street and parks in the empty lot? He then says, "We're here!" The whole family looks at him bewildered, but due to the high price of gas, they can't afford to go anywhere else.
I think that's how it goes.
Anyway, we have been trying for two weeks now to buy a toy hauler. You know, one of those fancy camping trailers that will also haul your ATV's, motorcycles and other pricey toys we American's feel we can't live without.
I've shared before that Dear Man is building a T-bucket. That is a model T that's been chopped, lowered, raked, and who knows what all, to become a dream of the teenaged boy of the fifties. A hot rod. The t-bucket isn't done yet, but it will be and when it is, Dear Man intends to load it up into the toy hauler and head off to all the hot rod shows, with us camping along the way.
In the mean time, we will go camping here and there, hither and yon, where ever the wind may blow us, and if the wallet has enough cash.
Two weeks we have waited to buy this camper and now we can't go camping this coming weekend. We could have two weeks ago. We could have last weekend. We can't now.
So, while I sit here and type this, Girl 1 & 2 as well as Boy 1 & 2 are blissfully sleeping out in the toy hauler. Dear Man and I will join them, when we are good and ready.
Ah, the smell, of the gravel! The breeze blowing off the dog kennel! It's home away from home.

Maybe you could ask your hubby to make the project he's working on "fold-able" for ease of storage or tie it on top of the camper but it sounds heavy, so I guess not. We wanted to visit the ocean again but not this summer. =o(
I hope your summer is filled with fun and loving memories no matter wher you are!
