In order to escape the wretched heat, we went camping this past weekend. We had a wonderful time and of course did not want to come home! We were joined by Dear Man's parents who came in their motor home.
We loaded up the toy hauler and headed off to an area we named Little Dog Meadow. We have no idea what its real name is, the forest service map doesn't say. It didn't matter anyway, when we arrived Little Dog Meadow was full of wild campers, so we turned around and went down the road a bit to an empty camp area. I have no desire to camp with a mess of heathens only five feet away. If that was what I wanted I could go to town.
Here are some scenes of the wild life. Believe it or not, these two female homosapiens came within yards of the camp. Interestingly enough they have the same names as Girl 2 and Girl 1.
Here are two adult's of the same species. I believe they are a mating pair. See how they are affectionately holding paws? Girl 1 took this photo after tracking them.

This little fella was found uphill from the camp site. Dear Man did a superb job in capturing his personality. Notice the eyes? I think he is a distant relative.

Finally, here is a beautiful speciman of flutterbye. Girl 1 had to cautiously sneak up on him, hold her breath, aim and shoot. I must say the taxidermist out did himself.

If we had circled our wagons near the hostile tribe of campers, we would have missed all of these wonders of Gods creation.
Boy 2 wants to know when we will go again. If this heat keeps up we may just head for the hills sooner than we had thought. I don't think anyone will complain.
