When the air starts to get crisp, and my children start shivering throughout the day, I know it's time to go through our bi-annual ritual of the changing of the clothes.
Twice a year we change from colder weather clothes, to warmer weather clothes and back again. Clothes that are out of season are in a box marked with the childs name that the clothes should fit.
When we pull the boxes out, my children try on the clothes from the box. If it fits it goes in the closet. If it's too big, it goes back in the box. If it's too small it moves down to the next child. In the case of the youngest girl and boy the clothes are then set aside for the thrift store or friends who have children that they might fit.
Boy 1 was thrilled to discover that he has nearly emptied his boxes. This means he doesn't have much to grow into. Not good on the pocket book!
Boy 2 sat in a mountain of clothing, giddy with excitement that he has so many wonderful clothes! He knows a blessing when he sees it.
Tomorrow it's the girls' turn! I used to do all of this in one day. Now, I'm just to old and tired, so I broke it up into two days.
I'm tired just thinking about it!
