This last week we were supposed to mention something about pumpkins. I knew instantly what I wanted to do, but first I had to go buy the pumpkin, which Boy 2 helped pick out. Then I had to wait until Dear Man could carve it for me.
Our family doesn't celebrate Halloween, but the first year after we made this decision I still wanted to put something on my doorstep for the neighbors to see. Something that would stand out from all the rest of the street's decorations.
For a number number of years now we have carved our pumpkins with a cross, like so:

Which displays rather nicely as thus:

I think it makes a statement.
The second part of this assignment was to guess how many candy corns could fit into a quart jar. Training Hearts our fearless leader says that her jar is not the standard shaped quart jar. Still if it holds a quart I don't know why it wouldn't hold the same amount as any other quart jar.
However I don't know the actual answer. If I had a jar for in which to put candy corn I would dump all the candy corn out and eat it while reading a book and I'd fill the jar with pumpkin pie filling.
Who ever heard of canning candy corn?
