It's been a long while since I've been able to take time to enjoy blog hopping. Over the weekend I finally caught up with most of the bloggers in my friends list and I found a couple of entries you might want to take a look at.
Barbara Frank is asking bloggers what they think about baring it all when it comes to homeschooling. Should we discuss the problems we have so publicly?
I know many of you have been having a lot of problems with the upgrades here at HSB. You've been pretty vocal about that! I know you are tired of things not working. Guess what? So are we! Tech support has been working very hard to fix things, but some things are just being plain elusive as to the exact problem. Several of us may have the same problems but interestingly the same solution won't fix it. Flickr works for this person but not that person, and above all it's just not the same! The upgrade was supposed to go over smoothly, but it didn't. It brought problems that weren't even expected.
Several bloggers have left because things aren't being fixed fast enough. While HSB has a tech support team, it isn't an army. It's just a couple of people and they have families and activities they have to go to, just like each of us. Moving to another big time blog host may be the right move for you if you like city life that is awake 24 hours. HSB is a community, the shop doors close and the town goes to sleep. Sometimes the barber goes fishing and the grocer deserves to go spend time with family at Christmas. Yes, even in the midst of chaos. Their heads hurt, they need some fresh air and time to be away from all the shouting.
While the upgrades brought in some really nifty new features, it isn't why the upgrade was made. HSB needed a safer program before the whole shebang crashed and to keep blog terrorists from destroying everything. Yes, they have already tried and with some nasty results. If you didn't see hide nor hair of it, be thankful. That was due to Tech Support at work. With all that said, bookmark this link to HSB Tech Help. Call it the Coast Guard of HSB.

One good thing the change has done is force me to figure out how to use RSS feed...so much more efficient than the friends function. Other than the site running slowly, I haven't seen any other changes to my own blog.
I love your HSB analogy to a small town...each blog is a front porch to meet with friends. I've always wanted a front porch and I don't plan on leaving mine now.
Blessings,
Angela
