We have an English Bulldog named Dolly. She is nearly three years old, and the few years we have had her she has taught us a thing or two about life. We were blessed with Dolly Girl as a Christmas present, because I grew up with English Bulldogs as did my Papafather. Right now Dolly is snoring at my feet on her cozy bed, which we actually purchased from Costco. I think it's the second most expensive thing we have ever purchased for a pet.
Here is what we have learned in no particular order:
-
Everytime you use the bathroom, you deserve a yummy treat.
-
You can be truly ugly and still shine with radiant, inner beauty.
-
When you have been reprimanded for doing something naughty you should always look truly repentant.
-
You should keep track of the lady of the house because you never know when you might get something nice, like a yummy treat.
-
Always stick up for your family.
-
Snoring is a sign of life.
-
Never gobble your food. This causes you to swallow air and results in (ahem) aromatic flatulance.
-
Even though someone looks fierce, they can still have a heart of gold.
-
If you are on strike you never give up, no matter how many yummy treats they try to cajole you with.
-
Before you put something into your mouth you should make sure it's good and dead.
