New Sleep Disorder Among Homeschool Moms Diagnosed

The National Association of Pillowheads (NAP) has just realeased its two year study about a new sleep disorder among homeschool moms in the U.S. While this study concentrated on American mothers, NAP is certain that the disorder can be found in Canada, the UK, Australia, and all homeschool friendly countries.

The study showed that these mothers would fall asleep while listening to their child sound out words like epitome or while studying their child's textbook to figure out what went wrong with the science experiment. Other cases revealed that these fits would occur during multiplication drills, spelling tests, correcting reports on the Battle of Actium, and family discussions for the 100th time on whether or not it is good hygiene to eat something off the floor after someone has let the dog in.

NAP has labeled this sleep disorder as Nardomoducelepsy. (Home educators that fall asleep suddenly.) If you have experienced similar problems please notify NAP by leaving a comment below.

OK! I'm killing myself laughing here!! That is just perfect! I will be the first to confess to having this condition and to confirm that it is prevelent here in the UK. This is one of those things that I read and say 'Who thinks of these things?' but this time I know the answer - YOU!! You are truely both clever and nuts!! :o)

Too Funny! My kids get tired of me yawning when I am reading them our FIAR story for the 5th day in a row and we won't even talk about the yawning going on during kindergarten math. LOL!

I must admit that I have suffered with this from time to time. There have been occasions, however, when I've been struck with uncontrollable laughter. Like when my then 7 year old so was trying to read about the lion who "crept across the forest. . . ." He put a short a sound in instead of the short e. I still find myself laughing about that and other episodes years later.

Now I know! I feel so much better. I wondered why I nodded off in such moments. You are absolutely such a crack up to me. I absolutely love YodaYoda, I WANT ONE! That is hilarious. My husband does similar movie quotes, it is funny, can be annoying, but I suppose it is one of the things I fell in love with in him. I hope you are enjoying a fantastic week!! I suffer from NAP. In fact, I need one right now! Alas, it is Library Day, so unless I fall asleep in the car (heaven forbid) I am out of luck. I also started a new meme on my blog -- it's called Mondays on Mothering. You can all come join me to get this thing up and running. I actually started it a few weeks before the HSB Blog challenge; but this is the perfect time to step it up a notch! Thanks for challenging us!
