Do you see that nifty nominee button over there in my sidebar? Do you have any idea how it came to be that I should be nominated for Best Homeschool Mom Blog? I cannot fathom how that happened. It certainly has nothing to do with the fact that Girl 1 nomintaed for me, she wasnt the only one that did. I know because I saw the other nominations while I was posting my nominations for the 2005 Homeschool Blog Awards.
Im just stunned that my own Girl 1 would nominate me. Im sure this morning she was wishing that she had not! Things didnt go well in our house this morning, and Im sure if any of you had been here you would be wondering right along with me, How did this woman get nominated for a best mom blog award?
This whole thing makes me sort of nervous. I feel like I should be writing wonderful, motherly stories from now until Dec. 26th when the voting ends. Im not going to though. Some days I dont feel very motherly, and Im selfish so Ill blog about something else. Im not just a mother Im a wife, a friend, and a Christian. Im not very good at those things either, but Im working on it all. Its hard to work on all those things all at once!
You really have to teach your children what it means to be a Christian, a friend, a spouse and a parent now. It will make their lives easier later. It doesnt mean they will be perfect adults, they will just be better equipped to deal with lifes struggles.
Girl 1 is a sophmore this year. I really feel the pressure that time is running short. Only two and a half more years to teach her everything! Shes about to face the real world and shell need to cram for the big test! Then I remember she isnt likely to run off after graduation, and wed like for her to stay single for at least another ten years, so I guess I still have time. Whew.
Where was I? Oh yeah, go vote for your favorite nominee at the 2005 Homeschool Blog Awards! If you dont its very possible I could win, and then Id have to deal with all the bad publicity that comes with being elected. People writing in and complaining that my war against bad oral hygiene is too aggressive. Even if it does save teeth. Angry citizens of the blogosphere camping outside my blog site in protest because my eat celery campaign caused their son to choke, even though he ate it willingly. Is that what you people really want?
I need to go find spunky and ask her a question. If I win, do I get to wear a crown?

And the crown thing would be too funny! If you win, I'll send you one of my spare ones, okay? sgadljk;agsdrkl;hjadklhj;asdkldh
