This year the olympics haven't held much interest for me. I just can't get excited about fit people racing, flipping, and twisting to victory, and to what end? When it's all said and done what will they have actually accomplished? Is a person considered accomplished because they have a medal?
Why not have Mommy Olympics? Competitors can compete in the following timed events:
~Diaper changing: Change 1 baby, with no further messes to clean than the one in the actual dipaer. Competitors will throw their hands up to signal they are done.
~Dinner for 6: Make a complete meal as cleanly as possible. Set the table and serve. Competitors will be given extra points for the figure eight racing around the table and kitchen island.
~Keep a room clean: Competitors must try and keep a room clean for at least eight seconds while a boy child charges about the room, kicking and snorting.
~Fold the laundry: Once the laundry leaves the dryer, competitors must show skill in keeping the laundry from straying as they sort, fold and place in the proper corrals.
Oh, wait... my apologies, those would be rodeo events! The only sport where the competitor still has to be the clown. "Do that again Mommy! You look so funny when your face turns red from picking socks up off the floor!" |
