• Mar. 9, 2006 - Baby Goat Gushing

I just love baby goats!  They are so cute, and are such fuzzy wuzzies, and they are little sweeties, but the number one reason is that they remind me to praise the Lord with all of my being!

Baby goats remind me of King David dancing in the streets.  Even though they are only a day old they are making their first attempts to run and skip and leap.  It is so funny to see them at these attempts.  Their little bodies give a good wiggle and then a hop and they never leave the ground!  Finally, the front or back legs will kick out and they are always so astonished.

When they are just a few days old they will be able to leap and twist all over the place.  They are just so happy to be alive!  They are rejoicing to their Maker.  Oh they are incredibally silly!  There is nothing like a baby goat to make you laugh and sing a song to the Lord.  They lighten your heart.

Watching baby goats at play makes me wish I was young again, so I could leap and twist about without winding up in traction or the neighbors thinking I've lost all my senses!

I just wanted to hop over and thank you for your honest post on jenig's blog about the military. I have a 13 yo son who is extremely interested in the military...he lives and breathes the military. I do support his interest and desire, but I want him to read your entry and get all sides.

It is a wise thing to see the lessons to be learned by watching the animals that the Lord created. We are told in the Bible to let them teach us. We can learn such marvelous lessons. One simple one that's hard to overlook is with a pet dog, they are a prime example of worship and adoration. It doesn't matter how long or short I've been away, my little fur baby is at my feet in a form I worship that never grows old or weary. this is the way we should worship as Christians.
Good post!!!
Cathy =)

One of my favorite "goat memories" is watching my Dad on all fours, working on something at the bottom of the house. Sure enough, one of the kids thought he looked like a good "cliff" and jumped up on him with all fours and just stood there. Dad didn't think it was funny, but I sure did!

Another time, one jumped in our pool ( used for gardening water) while we were doing chores! And they used to love playing with the dog. The dog would chase them, then they'd switch and they'd chase the dog. They were so much fun!

over a ruminant!! We had Nubians several years back. They are fabulous! I think when we move and build the barn will be my first priority. Then the house! ;) Terribly envious here! Wanna post pics of your barn and milking stand por favor?

Oh and we kept our kids in the house with our children as well! ;) My daycare parents were so funny. Their comments ranged from "Oh wow! There is a goat in your livingroom!" to "What is that?.....A goat? ....Is that what goats look like?....I thought it was a dog at first."

The politically incorrect ramblings of a sage rat den mother. As well as thoughts on adoption, special needs children, and My Lord and Savior.

About my Avatar: Tia Turtle is a character in a new book by Gena Suarez, "And Then Mama Said...It Takes Time to Learn to Read." Kevin Collier is the illustrator and he made me my special avatar, because yes, Tia Turtle is named after Me! (Okay, so I'm bragging. Leave me a correctional comment in love.)
