I took a class tonight called "Altered Books" at Paper Source which teaches the art of turning old books into new masterpieces. By cutting, painting, stamping and collaging the pages, a book is transformed into an artistic statement. I learned some very fun techniques that I am eager to use on some old hymnals. I am planning on featuring some of my favorite hymns and also incorporating some themes that God has inspired me to use. I'll be sure and take pictures as I work and share the "art."

I've just recently heard about "altered books", but was a bit confused as to what they were! Thanks for the sample pic, I can't wait to see some of your personal creations! I love to scrapbook, when I find the time to get everything out and do it, so this looks like a neat twist on that concept, and I'm sure some of the techniques go hand in hand. Please continue to share!
