New Relationships
|
God has brought a new relationship into our lives. Yolanda has become a regular and welcome sight in our home. She even went to church with us on Sunday. She and I feel very comfortable together and although are lives have been drastically different, I feel like she has been a long-time friend. Only God does things like that.
Yolanda is not her real name, but I thought it was before. This is now her blog name.
Yolanda has many issues. Often wisdom comes from her lips, but putting that wisdom into action is the part she has trouble with. She desires to do what is right, but tries to do everything by her own power, not in God's power.
I am so honored that God has allowed us to become a part of her life and wait with anticipation to see the butterfly emerge.

Yolanda sounds alot like my daughter. I am glad you are there for her, luckily my daughter will find the same. Someone who cares and can see beyond what others do!

Our neighborhoods are mission fields, aren't they. I think a lot of us forget that, at times, in our busy lives. I think the love you are showing this woman is wonderful. It might be the only real love anyone has shown her. What better way for her to see Jesus...

I am so glad you are a support person for Yolanda. I know I am a dog with a bone on this issue, but you said one thing that made the danger lights in my brain start flashing. [Often wisdom comes from her lips, but putting that wisdom into action is the part she has trouble with.] This describes my daughter too. Her special education teacher couldn't understand how Marissa could know what to do in every situation and still not follow through.
I know that this would require a close relationship and be an awkward conversation, but I wonder if perhaps Yolanda might not have been exposed to alcohol prenatally. Experts in the field have predicted that up to 10% of the population may have behavioral problems directly related to changes in the brain structure caused by prenatal alcohol exposure. Just a thought.
Sorry, I know you didn't ask for advise and you can ignore it completely if you'd like ~
