• Mar. 20, 2006 - Thanks for the prayers and other things

Hi Friends

First off thank you all for the prayers for my Daughter.  We went a week ago and had her fitted for the brace.  It was a hour worth of standing with out a top on in front of 2 people.  It was very embarrassing to her but, they did not have to put her in a cast like the dr said.  So that was a blessing.  She has one more week until the brace comes in.  Then they told us to expect about 2 hours to get it fitted properly.  Then back to the dr to have an x ray and more fitting.  I have filled out the paper work for the Shriners Hospital.  My friend who is a nurse told me that the brace and fitting would probably be over $1000 not to mention the dr.  We have insurance but, they are a little picky about what they pay.  I just pray that they will cover this until we can get her admitted to Shriners.  She has been complaining about her back hurting and also her left leg.  I am so thankful for all your prayers.  I can feel them.

Keep them coming.

This week we are taking off for Spring Break.  We usually do not take off.  The kids would prefer to just finish school a week earily.  But, I really feel like we need the week off.  I am planning the next 9 weeks.  I am trying to be so organized.  I feel like every year I get a little better at being organized and prepared.

Thanks again for all your prayers.

Happy Homeschooling

Sarah

I got the code for the rolling pictures at www.dynamicdrive.com. They have several options. All you do is copy the code and paste it into your "template" code. If you have any detailed questions, you can email me.

It is hard isn't it? Wanting to know the future - yet not knowing - yet trusting and not trusting all in the same time? I will continue to pray for Sarah - I know she (and your entire family) has been through a lot.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I did not know about your DD, I will be praying for her.
This is only my 2nd year HSing. I would enjoy learning some of your organizational methods. Also, What types of Curriculums do you use & teaching methods. Like I said, I am new & still using trial & error. God is helping me though.

Hi Sarah, Thanks for dropping by my blog and commenting. It was lovely to hear from you. I read with interest about your daughter and her brace. I feel so sorry for her to have to go through that discomfort, especially at such a delicate age. One of my sisters in law, my husband's sisters, had severe scoliosis as a teenager with a spinal cord like a letter S. She is now 33 (I think) and has four children who were born about four years apart, one after the other. I think the doctors said that having them so close together like that actually helped her spine by putting pressure on the right spots during the pregnancies. You never know what you'll hear next, do you? I certainly hope you're all coping and that the brace won't be for an extended period.
It's great to be able to blog, isn't it. I've spoken over computer to so many lovely ladies from the opposite side of the world to me since I began in January.
Blessings, Paula from Australia

Glad to hear things are progressing for your daughter. I feel for her - having to stand there feeling violated almost while getting fitted for her brace. I'm sure in the long run she will understand that the doctors are professionals and don't even take note of things like that. I will keep praying that she will get into Shriners and that the bill will be covered - completely!!! Keep smiling and know that God is in total control over this whole thing. Blessings to you and your family! ~Kim~
