Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Read it out loud! Tabi said

Ok it says:

Look in the hat,

It may be under your cat,

And you may see,

Another part of this mystery.

Signed guess who,

Toodaloo!

Look under the hat? And we don’t have a cat! And how would it STILL be under the cat even if we did have one by the time we see it? Rachel reasoned.

Well do you have a figurine of a cat or a picture of one or something? Tabi asked.

Hey! Yah! There is that picture in the entry way of a cat. Rachel remembered. But I don’t think that there’s a hat under it but I’ll check. Come!

So they ran to the entryway and saw that Rachel’s dad was just getting back from work day at the chapel.

Hi Dad! Rachel said as he came in the door. Hey! You’re wearing a hat! Can I see your hat for a sec? Hey! Tabi it’s taped in here!

Hey! What’s all the commotion about? Rachel’s dad asked.

Well you see we have had a exciting day around here. Rachel explained and told him everything that had happened that day.

Well sounds like you have had a pretty interesting day girls! But I for one want to see what’s in this riddle here. Dad said

Ok here is what it says:

Look in the room behind the clock,

It probably goes tick and tock,

You may have to say good-bye and farewell,

If this riddle is a little to swell!

Signed Guess Who,

Toodaloo!

(PS: Please solve this riddle tomorrow!)

Well it’s just as well said Rachel. Because I’m starting to get hungry and then I’m sure I’ll be tired! Come on lets see if dinner’s ready!

It was so they went and ate dinner (Rachel’s mom had done their parts.)

Tabi? Do you think your mom would let you come tomorrow too? It’ll be Saturday and so we won’t have school. I’m gona try to get Samantha and Erin to come too. Then ya’ll could come to spend the night at my house so we could work on the riddle. Rachel asked

Yah she probably wouldn’t mind. But I’ll call you first thing in the morning if she says no. Tabi said I need to go now my mom’s probably wondering where on earth I am by now! Bye Rachel!

Ok! Bye Tabi!

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

“Well that wasn’t it.” Erin said as they walked away.

No it wasn’t… Or was it? That did look a little like my grandpa. Maybe he didn’t recognize me! Here I’ll try again.” Rachel said.

“So she knocked again and her grandma opened the door.”

“Oh! Hi Rachel! Are these girls with you the friends that you have been telling me so much about? It wasn’t you all that just knocked on the door was it?” Grandma said

“Yes it was us grandma. I’m sorry that we came at such an inconvenient time for grandpa. Here is what happened.”

So Rachel told her the whole story.

“Oh! I’m so sorry that that had to happened to you! Well I’m sure that you all must be hot it is 87 degrees outside! Come into the kitchen and have some ice cream!” Grandma said.

After they ate their ice cream and thanked grandma for it, they asked her how to get home to Rachel’s house.

“Here I’ll do more than tell you, I’ll drive you! Come on get in the van!” Grandma said.

“Thank you!” All the girls said at the same time.

After they got dropped off at Rachel’s house they went up to her bedroom and got out a new notebook that they decided to use to put their notes down for the mystery.

“OK. So we need to write down everything we can remember about this girl.” Rachel said taking charge.

“Hey! Wasn’t she wearing a school uniform?” Erin said who was the most observant of them all.

“Hey yah she was!” Tabi shouted out.

“Oh good!” Rachel said as she was writing. “Does anyone remember what color hair she had or anything?”

“Didn’t she have brown hair?” Samantha said

“Probably, which would narrow it down to about 57 people in our school. Why not black or something?” Rachel said.

Hey! What time is it? Samantha said.

Umm… 5:17 Why? Rachel asked.

“I told my mom I would leave at 5 to help her with dinner!” Samantha quickly explained. “Sorry I have to go! Bye!”

“Sorry Rachel I have to leave too! I didn’t realize how late it was!” Erin said. Bye!

“Well looks like we’re the only ones here now.” Tabi said. “Do you have any suspicions of who it could be?”

“Well I’m kinda thinking that it might be that new girl that came at the beginning of this week. She did look about that height. But don’t tell the others until we have proof.” Rachel said

“OK I won’t.” Tabi said.

Chapter 2

Chapter 2

They were silently examining the diamond when they saw a girl around their age run by. They all took off running after her in their socks not realizing that they had forgotten shoes.

They were running so fast that they didn’t really see or know where they were going they just knew they were following that girl. All of a sudden they all stepped in some sticky mud and in their shock they lost the girl!

Oh no! Tabi shouted. We lost her!

“Oh well we can just go back to my house and discuss it“. Rachel decided. “But first look and see what street name this is.”

“It’s Oak St.” Erin informed her. “I already checked”

“Well all this running and mystery stuff is makin me hungry.” Samantha said. “Isn’t it about dinner time?”

“It’s still only 4:30” Rachel said looking at her watch. “And you know we eat late dinners at my house. But we can probably have some cheese and crackers at home”

“Good!” Samantha said. “I don’t know why but I’m just always hungry!”

“Yes we know.” Tabi said.

“Lets start back now” Erin said “I’m getting cold”

“OK back to my house everyone!” Rachel said.

“How do we get there?” Tabi asked assuming Rachel knew the way.

“OH NO!!! I don’t know how to get back home!” Rachel exclaimed. “None of you have a cell phone right?”

“Right” everyone else said.

“Well… Hey wait didn’t you say that this is Oak St.?” Rachel asked not waiting for an answer. “If so then I know how to get to my grandma’s house! I have never walked there before though but she lives on Oak I think. Here lets go this way.”

They walked down a ways and saw a house that Rachel thought was her Grandma’s house, so they went up to it and knocked. Instead and old man came to the door.

“Whadda ya want?” He growled. “This is SUPPOSED to be my nap time when little intruders like YOU don’t come knockin”

OH! I’m so sorry sir! I thought this was my grandma’s house but I guess it’s not. I’m very sorry to interrupt your nap! Rachel said with a smile as the door slammed in her face.

Chapter 1

Hey do y’all want to come to my house? Rachel asked.

Samantha, Erin and Tabitha (Tabi for short) all said that they’d come over if they could call their moms and tell them where they were from Rachel’s house.  They all got there and decided to play the Bible Edition of Apples to Apples and had tons of fun.  Then they made chocolate chip cookies.

“Are the cookies done yet?”  Samantha yelled over the noise of Rachel’s mom vacuuming.

“Samantha! We just put them in a few seconds ago! Of course they’re not ready!” Rachel said.

When the cookies were ready, they decided to go up to Rachel’s room to eat. Once they cooled everyone ate slowly to keep the taste last as long as they could.

OUCH!! Rachel yelled as she took her first bite of her last cookie. There’s something hard in here!

Everyone gathered around her to see what it was.  She pulled out a huge jewel!  They all ran to Rachel’s mom to ask what kind it was she told them that it was a diamond and a real one at that!  No one could figure it out! None of them wore jewelry and before this none of the children had ever seen a real diamond before.  Where could it have come from? No one knew.

last lesson!!!!

Doris the cat purred

happily and curled up in the sunny window. She shivered a little when she thought about how long she'd lived in the streets as a skinny, stray cat. But that was then. now she knew she would never again choose to wander about chasing mice like she used to. It would be fancy cat food for her from now on, served in a fancy glass dish. As old Mrs. Winn patted her soft coat, Doris stretched and hoped that life would always be this good!

And that is the story of how I saved my little sis from drowning

Memory “Ugh I remember her SCREAMING for help at the top of her lungs.

Feeling: I was SO glad I could help her

Hope: I hope that never happens again!

Decision: Well I know that I’ll never let her go in the water without a life jacket for at least a year now!

Revised ending: Ugh! I remember her screaming at the top of her lungs for help! Just thinking about it makes me shiver! I hope it NEVER happens again! She thought.

lesson 15

I am doing the book Titus: Comrade of the Cross Which has a couple of other characters in with the story of Jesus’ crucifixion so it will seem strange but you kinda have to read the book in order to understand it.

Nutshell: Titus gets kidnapped at a young age and then his “dad” is a drunkard and a thief and all that. Titus tries to run away from his dad and gets a good job until his dad captures him! Will he die at the hands of his father or… well you better read to find out!

Hook: Gets kidnapped

Problem: Gets kidnapped

Up: His brother gets healed by Jesus

Down: His dad finds his brother

Up: He is able to save his brother

Down: He gets captured

Climax: He gets crucified for being a thief and murderer

Resolution: He asks Jesus to remember him when he gets to the kingdom

Satisfying ending: Jesus says that Titus will be with Him that day in paradise

I'm not ready to do one on my story yet.

lesson 14

Josh and his friends had had a sleepover the night before and now it was morning. They were wondering what to do.  "Ummm, we could play sorry?" Josh suggested.  No one really wanted to when Josh looked out the window and seeing it was a sunny day Josh suggested that they go boating. Everyone wanted to, so they set off.

They went and got a raft and set out.  They were in the middle of the river when it all of a sudden started raining but it was only a light drizzle. What do you think we should do?  Should we go back? Josh's friend Joe asked. "Nah it's not bad enough to turn back. Josh replied but then it began storming!  But by this time they were in the middle of the river. They were all too surprised to say anything. But they were able to work togeather anyways. They were swaying so they gripped the sides of the raft and Josh had a very funny face his mouth was contorted and he had a look of surprise and confusion he felt so bad for not turning back and for getting his friends in danger.

By now the water was splashing over the sides of the raft and they tried to make their way back to land. They struggled because they were going against the current. Then they started getting closer and closer until finally they were there!  They had survived it was a miracle!! Josh decicded to from then on at the first drop turn back!

There is what I tried! Hope you like it!

"Hey yah! And that's the little dipper! Right?" Said Tabitha.

3. As we entered the cave a saw a green chest that was 20 ft by 10 feet that smelled like apples and I looked closer and inscribed in gold was: "The treasure of the ancients".  Out of it was spilling gold, silver, jewelry and looked like it was made for a king!  I started digging and when I got to the bottom I saw a check for $1,000,000!! It was made out to "whoever finds it"!  I ran and cashed it right away!
