A New Homeschooling Year

This post is a part of Tiany's Back to School Open House!  Go to Tiany's blog to find out about this wonderful open house she is hosting!  See what others are planning for this coming school year!
Here is Tiany's link:  http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/tiany

We began our new school year right after July 4th, after taking the month of June off.  We are expecting blessing #5 the end of this month, so we decided to try and get a good month of school in before the baby arrives :).  Here is what I am doing this year with my children:

1 year old - lots of playing and reading books with Mom and siblings

3 year old - reading books, reading through his notebook "Learning for the Littles-A Preschool Notebook" that I put together for him (I'll have it available for sale soon on my website, www.school4jesus.com)

8 year old - Reading:  Sonlight 3rd Grade Readers
Math:  Math-U-See, Flashmaster to drill math facts
Language Arts:  Language Lessons for the Very Young by Queen Homeschool
Science:  Working on science kits with older sister
History:  Studying World History together with older sister using Sonlight
Bible:  Working through a study of Daniel as a family, memorizing Bible verses together

14 year old - Reading:  Sonlight readers
Math:  Teaching Textbooks - Pre-Algebra, Flashmaster to drill facts
Language Arts:  Language Lessons for Older Student by Queen Homeschool
Science: Working on science kits together with younger brother
History: Studying World History together with younger brother using Sonlight
Bible:  Working through a study of Daniel as a family, memorizing Bible verses together
Typing:  Working through the Typing INstructor CD
Home Economics:  Helping Mom make dinner, helping take care of younger siblings

This is basically what we are doing....some table time work and lots of reading and read-alouds.  It has been a challenge having such an age range to work with, but the Lord is faithful.  He has provided help along the way and ideas to make things run smoother.  I hope each of you have a wonderful homeschool year!!!

I was skimming your blog (found you because I just bought your ebook package yesterday on frugal shopping and I'm loving it) and had a question about the Language Arts your 14 year old is using. Do you have a link for them? Thanks!
