School Days
Apr. 13, 2008

i'll intro you to my children so you know who i am talking about.

ben is 15, parker is 7, hannah is 6, rebekah is 4 and jamison is 2.  i also have a hs graduate- sarah who is 21 now.  all my kids are all over the place gradewise so i can't  begin to tell you what grade they are each in.  parker reads at a 4th grade level - 2 years ahead- and is doing 54 grade saxon math.   hannah is doing some 1st and 2nd grade work and  rebekah is doing some kindergarten and 1 st grade work.

right now we are at a standstill with school!       i am so tired of what we usually do yet i can't seem to get it together to do anything else!  we just moved here to texas a few months ago and i got pg also immediately so i have had a lot on my plate!    what i need is some money to buy what i feel would simplify my life but that ain't happening.  lol     i would love to get all lifepacs in every subject for each child and just turn the page each day. :)

instead what we are doing  is we are all reading thru abeka's history each day and parker is using rod and staff's science while the girls are using abeka's science.

as i said parker is doing saxon 54 math, with some abeka thrown in  and hannah is using miquon math and  scott forman/addison wesley math.  rebekah is using walmart workbooks.

ben is using saxon and lifepacs math. for language arts he is using wordly wise (i do love this)and rod and staff. he is on his own for history and science.  i just turn him loose in the library. ~smile~

we all use spelling power.

BUT i feel so at loose ends! so out of control! maybe it's the pregnancy but i seem like i don't have it all under control.

that's why i am blogging our school days- trying to make sense of it all. any comments or ideas are welcome!   :)

Thank you for adding me as a friend! I look forward to reading more about your busy life. What a span of ages you'll have in a few months, huh? :o)

I have not moved to another state and I am not pregnant, but I can sympathize with not really being into school right now! We are essentially done, but I cannot seem to force myself to tie up those loose ends. My mind has already hit summer vacation. Haha!

The Bible calls debt a curse and children a blessing; but in our culture, we apply for a curse and reject blessings. Something is wrong with this picture." ~ Doug Phillips

this blog is to write down what we do and how we do it for school. i have been at it for 15 years now and am burned out! so i am seeking new ways to do everything. this is a log of those new ways.
