well, this is what i have done so far.
we started out with art. we made clay snowmen, flowers, and birds. i read poems from "a child's garden of verses" while they sculpted.
then parker read thru some science in a new book, "what every second grader needs to know", and narrated the info back to me. it is the same info that he has been reading in his rod and staff science but i wanted for him to really get it. he seems to like this book better!
park has worked in his abeka handwriting also. then he did a word search puzzle. more language arts to come this afternoon.
hannah, rebekah and parker all worked on geography together. we used a book called "children of the world" and studied what children in other countries eat, do for school, and like to play with, among other things. then we located their countries of origin on our big map. :)
parker did some reading in his freetime book, which has a history theme to it. it's about indians and how they did things.
devotions centered on Jesus and "suffering not the little children"
lunch was spaghetti.
math and more , all to come.
as promised math did come around. dad worked with the boys in both their books so i didn't have to! ~smile~
ben did his english too. he likes this book a lot, just like i do!
