Write the vision

Yes, that's what I'm attempting to do. I have my trusty, rusty Homeschool Tracker (HST) program and my Kindergarten Lesson book from The Foundation for American Christian Education (FACE) and I think I'm all set. I heard one other principle approach (PA) lady ask a question about how she inputs the PA lessons into HST. I've always used it however it best suits me to use it. I have made new subjects just to accommodate our home school. I guess I can afford myself a level of liberty since the children will be only starting K in Sept. No college transcripts to think about just yet.
So anyway, I'm going through the lesson book and noticing that we can skip over a few things and add in some more things. I'll probably put in what they have written down and then adjust it when we start. One thing I am disappointed about is the arts and foreign language getting no more than two days a week focus. I think there's way too much to be explored for it to be shoved to the side like that. Of course the history section is chock full of stuff that we'll probably not even be able to get to for lack of time. I'm really surprised that they didn't do more with the arts and foreign language. In contrast, I plan to have the children learning about music, foreign language and art everyday. Even if we only do a little bit, I at least have to give it some attention. I can't just push it to the side. The way the lessons are set up all the heavy subjects are early in the day with breaks in between, then we do the arts and foreign language. I think we'll be able to still follow that schedule. We'll see when we actually get started, but for now, I'm writing it down! It feels so good to be preparing!

Girlfriend!
I'm excited too...so glad to see u posting again..makes me want to get back to my blog. Sooooo many thoughts and ideas roll thru me but IT SEEMS as if I have no time just to sit, relax, and write...and then to be CONSISTENT about it.
You mentioned the schedule found in the K plans...what schedule do they suggesst in there? I was going to kind of try to follow the one laid ou in the 1st grade plans(I'm teaching 1 and 3) and wondered each grade differs in their schedule.

Violet,
so sorry it took me so long to add you to our BP blogger list. :( It's there now though.
I love HST. I'm still trying to get ahead of the learning curve though. Maybe we can put our heads together about how to use it with our unique BPA needs... Since I tend to do different things each year I wonder if it's worth the time to enter the lesson plans. I don't know if I'll ever use them again. But maybe I will, I just don't know.
Love your blog. I subscribe so I get all the updates. Sounds like things are going well in your little homeschool. God is good!
