Aug. 31, 2006 - Our First Day
Our first day of homeschooling... We had a great day learning together. We started off with 'The Story of Ping'. We learned that the Yangze River is 4,000 miles long and that it would take us 10 trips to Grandma and Grandpa's to travel that far. We also learned that hiding from your mistakes isn't worth it. Caitlyn and Caroline drew a picture about something from the story - Caroline's was amazing - she drew Ping (the duck) on the water with the blue sky and the sun. I was amazed to see her draw the reflection of the sun on the water! Caitlyn drew a cute picture of Ping on the wise-eyed boat.
We also accomplished our Health, Math, Reading and Spelling (Andrew only). I learned already that we need to keep it fun - I'll have to allow for some recess time - a break here or there. Within the next week we will add in History and Language for Andrew.
Well, it's time to get started for today!
