May. 2, 2008 - Before The Throne
Once a quarter or so, on a Wednesday evening, church has an evening of worship called "Before the Throne". I always look forward to it, however I think I've shared before that since my precious hubby is the worship leader I sometimes have a hard time focusing on worshiping the Lord, but instead listen for off-notes, broken strings and bad intros. So I do try to make a concerted effort not to do that anymore, even though Joe wants my 'feedback'. I believe that same man exhorted us during a worship set recently to not think of the worship time as being anything about us, but all about the Lord. So... why does he need my feedback?! All that to say, that this week I was quite successful, in my own heart, making BTT about the Lord and not about me or the worship leader.
What a wonderful thing to get 'lost' in worship together with hundreds of other believers doing the same thing! How sweet it sounded. I can't begin to imagine how it will be truly before THE Throne of heaven as we sing with perfected voices, together with the angels.
Another thing that almost brought me to tears (actually I think I did shed one or two) was hearing our pastor exhort us at the end about giving all our cares to God. He quoted Job who said, "The Lord give and the Lord takes away, blessed be the Name of the Lord". Knowing that his wife is in hospital after receiving a bone marrow transplant and seeing the pure joy on his face as he really is living out those verses and obeying the command to "rejoice in the Lord always".
One of the songs we ended with was the following - I love this song!
Jesus, He can move the mountains
My God is Might to Save, Mighty to Save
Forever, Author of Salvation
He died and rose from the Grave, Jesus conquered the grave..
Shine Your Light and Let the Whole World See
For the Glory of the Risen King....
So, in good times and bad ... may we shine our light and let the whole world see that Jesus lives in us and is Mighty to Save for His Glory!!

when we're in heaven singing, I'm standing by you and we'll sing harmony together. :)) I miss worshiping with you so much.
That one verse in Job is enough to make me cry and rejoice, have hope, completely disarm and be encouraged all at the same time. It's very powerful. love ya, Dani
