| Mar. 15, 2006 Hey Everybody! |
No time, no see! It seems that I haven't had any time to type on my blog. My oldest son, Jacob has been away at his Aunt's and Uncle's house for a couple of days, so it has been just me and Caleb (youngest son). Caleb, is my talker. He talks constantly! My husband was joking last night that Jacob probably thinks he is on vacation! Caleb is my entertainer! He is constantly looking for a smile!
Has anyone watched the shows on Discovery Home and TLC about the Duggar family? I had heard about that show but never caught them till this week. I am so impressed with their family. Especially the mom! One thing that stuck out to me was that the Dad said that the mom didn't start out very organized, but learned as more children came along. That means there is hope for me! It seems as challenges come my way, I have to learn to adapt and overcome ( as my dh says)! Maybe one day I will reach my potential!
Funny thing happened yesterday! Caleb called Jacob yesterday evening because he misses him so much, (keep in mind Jacob is 4 and Caleb is 3) and Jacob asked Caleb was Daddy was doing. Caleb told Jacob that Daddy was watching "dirties." Peter and I started laughting so hard! Daddy was actually watching "Dirty Jobs." Watch out your husband might be watching "dirties!" |

It seems like winter is soooo dreary here in West Virginia. I'm thankful that this winter has been very mild, but sunshine rays are few and far between during the winter months. I feel so run-down and lethargic, but as soon I see some sun, I perk up! Everything is pretty calm around the Scheer household today. My husband recently has surgery and was off from work 2 1/2 weeks. He went back to work Monday and it is so lonely around here without him! But, on the other hand, I can now resume my routines without hesitation!
I talked to my mother-in-law in South Carolina and we were discussing the book,' Created to be His Helpmeet" by Debi Pearl. I had sent that book to a friend that attends her church. She was telling me the change that you can see in my friends marriage since she read that book. I LOVE that book! I lent my copy to a girl that attends church with me, and I thought I would die without it! The atmosphere in our home has totally changed! I never knew that marriage could be as Mrs, Pearl puts it, glorious! It wasn't changes in my husband made, but changes that I made. I recommend this book so highly. I have read alot of books about marriage, family, etc., but this one is #1!!! Did this book do the same for anyone else?
Well, better go. I have a ham in the oven, and the boys are watching a movie. See you soon!

| Feb. 28, 2006 Hello! |
Hey everyone! I am 27 years old, and am the wife of my God given mate Peter. We have been married for 6 1/2 years and have two boys. Jacob is 4 1/2 and Caleb is 3 1/2. We live in Western West Virginia. I just started my homeschool journey this year. At the begining of the year I was using Covenant Home Curriculum. After a review of how it was going, my husband and I decided to go back to the basics and just use flashcards, an alphabet chart and handwritten worksheets. I am so excitied to be homeschooling! I know that I still have a long way to go, but am looking forward to the stitches that will be put in our crazy quilt along the way.
My mom is Homeskoolmoma. She signed up today for her blog. I thought it looked so fun that I decided to make my own!
I am currently trying to teach myself how to knit. I am having so much fun! (Until the boys pull the stitches out!)
I can't wait to meet some new homeschooling friends!
