Spring?

Today is April 21.  Spring has supposedly sprung but not here in the Inland NW.  No, not here.  Today we had SNOW.  Yes SNOW.  With more SNOW in the future.  Now I like snow and so do my kids but come on.  We have already had 90 or so inches this winter!   I think enough is enough.  Even the children are upset to see snow falling AGAIN.  That darn global warming!   I hope someone somewhere is enjoying spring.  Tell it hello and to please stop by soon.  Thank you and Good night!

God's Everlasting Love

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be [8] against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. [9] 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,

“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.                                        Romans 8: 31-38 ESV

I can't believe it!

It has been 2+ months since my last post.  We were busy with life, sports activities and sickness.  Mostly sickness.  Stuffy noses, runny noses, coughs, sore throats, vomiting, chills, fever, ear pains, you get the picture.  Everything that kids can get we have had.  Normally my children are very healthy, but these last few months I have seen them get sick 2 to 3 times all of them.

During this season of sickness: Josiah turned 1.  Yea!  He is walking all over the house and teething (on top of all his sickness), Eli had his wrestling tournaments.  He did such a great job.  He won bronze, silver and gold medals.

Emma started soccer.  She is so excited to play and meet new people!

That is a brief rundown on where we have been.  More posts are coming!!!!

Yes, today is our 10 year anniversary!

Oh we were so young and knew so little!  God has been so faithful to us both over these 10 years.  He has truly made each year better than the last!

Happy anniversary dear! I love you!

Christmas Meme

This is meme comes from Heather at Stepping Heavenward

Wrapping paper or gift bag?  I like gift bags.  With four kids it is much less time consuming!

Real tree or artificial?  Real, although growing up we had an artificial tree

When do you put up the tree?  Whenever my husband goes to the tree lot and buys one, hopefully this weekend!

When do you take the tree down?  Usually after New Year's Day, before hubby has to go back to work

Favorite holiday theme?  Theme?  Our tree is loaded with homemade ornaments.  I'd love it to be all red and silver with fancy ornament and ribbons.

Favorite gift received as a child?   I wasn't really a child.  I was 19 and my brother spent a lot of money to buy me a CD player/boom box.  As a poor college student that was awesome!

Do you have a nativity scene?  Yes

Hardest person to buy for? My dad.  What do you buy someone who needs nothing?

Easiest person to buy for?  My mom.  Family photo or smelly lotions.  She's good!

Worst Christmas gift you ever received?  I can't think of the worst one.  What was annoying though as a kid was getting my birthday and Christmas presents as one gift.  My birthday is less than a week before Christmas

Mail or email cards? Mail.  I really need to get that finished up!

Favorite Christmas movie?  It's a Wonderful life, Christmas Story (you'll shoot your eye out kid), Christmas Vacation (the cleaned up version-Clark and the lights and sledding, CLASSIC) and White Christmas

When do you start shopping for Christmas? I haven't yet.  Whenever I can go by myself.

Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?  Probably (sheepish grin)

White lights or colored on the tree?  White!

Favorite Christmas song? Silent Night, all the verses and Joy to the World with all the verses.

Travel for Christmas or stay at home? After the third child was born we stay home!

Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?   Yep

Angel on the tree top or a star?  A star

Open the presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?  We open 1 on Christmas Eve then the rest on Christmas Day

Most annoying thing about this time of year?    How  Merry Christmas has become Happy Holidays!

What I love most about Christmas?  Everything!  I love Christmas.  I love that my Savior lowered himself to come as a baby just to save us!

If you're reading this and want to participate, consider yourself tagged! Let me know if you do, I love to read about how others spend their holidays!

It has been forever since I last posted.

Here has been the run-down of my time since then.

Abbie's 2nd birthday

Oscar 36th birthday

No DSL for awhile--Phone company problems

Keyboard not working--due to kids playing with it

Thanksgiving cooking and cleaning for 20 people

Family visiting for the week after Thanksgiving

And finally:  4 kids with a stomach bug--lots of throwing up (sorry!) and laundry.

So here are somethings I was going to post on but well may not happen!

Global warming-the new religion.  I have so much to say on this that it may end up being a post soon.  I'll just say this for now.  The Today show did a segment on Global Warming.  Al Roker went to the equator, and well it wasn't as warm and sunny as one would expect.  Ann Curry tried numerous times to get to the South Pole.  She finally made 2 or 3 days later, after waiting for the winter storms to dissipate. Not really a Global Warming issue, more like a Global cooling issue.  Now just as a side note:  I do believe that we are to be good stewards of Earth.  But I do not agree that we should worship mother earth.

Politics--Oh is there one good candidate?  I start thinking so and so looks ok but then something comes along which I don't like.  Still have plenty of time to decide, but who to choose?   Let me just say this  I will never vote for Ms. Clinton!  I know never say never but really, NEVER.

Ok I had more but just thinking of Ms. Clinton really upsets me.  So I must be off to do something much happier.  I think I will go listen to Bing sing White Christmas!

Ugh!

School Update Part 1

2:34 PM, Oct. 12, 2007 .. Posted in Homeschooling .. 2 comments .. Link

Well I finally found some time to give an update on our school year.  Today I will fill you in our Bible time.

For Bible time with Emma I decided to teach her the "hows" of  having a devotion time.  We read 1 chapter a day, discuss it together then we both journal about: What God is teaching us, what God is showing us about His character etc.  We started the school year in the Book of Matthew.  My goal is to do all of the Gospels first and then maybe some of Paul's epistles then we will tackle books from the Old Testament.

Bible time with Eli and Abbie I am reading The Jesus Storybook Bible.  I love this children's Bible!!  Here is an excerpt from today's reading from Isaiah.

Dear little flock, (A letter from God)

You're all wandering away from me, like sheep in an open field.  You have always been running away from me.  And now you're lost.  You can't find your way back.

But I can't stop loving you.  I will come to find you.  So I am sending you a Shepherd to look after you and love you.  To carry you home to me.  You've been stumbling around, like people in a dark room.  But into the darkness, a bright Light will shine!  It will chase away all the shadows, like sunshine.

A little baby will be born.  A Royal Son.  His name will be Emmanuel, which means. "God has come to live with us"  He is one of King David's children's children's children.  The Prince of Peace.  Yes, Someone is going to come and rescue you!  But he won't be who anyone expects.

It goes on to say:

But people will hate him, and they won't listen to him.  He will be like a Lamb-he will suffer and die.  It's the Secret Rescue Plan made from before the beginning of the world!

It's the only way to get you back.

But he won't stay dead

Yes the Rescuer will come.  Look for him.  Watch for him.  Wait for him.  He will come

Oh how this story made me cry today I barely could read the words.  Every story in this children's Bible points the Savior Jesus.  I highly recommend this book to everyone!!!

God is so good to us.  He has provided away back to himself for us.  Thank you Jesus!

Where have I been

1:32 PM, Oct. 5, 2007 .. Posted in Misc .. 1 comments .. Link

Well as I said previously I have been very busy lately.  Two things have been keeping me very busy.  The first being homeschooling.  School is going great this year.  We are really enjoying our curriculum choices with the exception of one: Latin.  I've had to go back to the drawing board on that one.  I'll update at a later time about school.  The second thing which is keeping me so busy is my husbands workload.  The poor man is so busy with projects he is having a hard time getting home for dinner and even getting home to get some much needed rest.  So needless to say with him gone so much I am very exhausted at the end of the day.  My 4 kids sure do know how to tire me out!

Now, all of this to say that this Saturday my husband and I are going out!  Hooray We are going to an open house of one of the houses he has designed this year which was in Spokane's Fall Festival of Homes.  Yes, I am bragging a little here.    But we get to go out  with no children AND we get to  be with adults. The party is catered, so no cooking dinner and no children.  OH wait I said that part already.  Here is a picture of the house.  I think just the outside is amazing!

Anyone want to buy this beautiful house?  It is for sale and Spokane is a lovely place to live!

Again, I promise to do more blogging in the future!

No, really I am still here!

I have been meaning to update my blog but lately at the end of the day I am too exhausted or my mind is complete mush!  School is going great this year but it is taking up way more time than last year did.  Also taking care of 4 kiddos tends to take up a lot of my time and my energy. I promise I will be updated soon!   Happy days to all!
